Not overly thrilled about this deal tbh, or the Blackett deal really. Time will tell if it will pay off. Time will tell if it'll be any good but I'm pretty sure there's other players we should probably be going for.

John Hughes saying £500000 might not be enough! Very generous IMO what has he actually done to merit more than the offer we have put on the table?

Hughes on Christie - #Celtic "Ryan is a Celtic supporter, that's his club. His dad played for the club & I think thats where his heart lies.

All you need to know. The way he changed the game the other week shows how keen he is to impress and how much he wants to play for us.

Scotland's young player of the year who's heart lies with us for 500k how can this possibly be a bad signing?

Because he's a completely mediocre player who doesn't improve what we already have and plays in a position where we currently have an abundance of players.

He won the award because of the backwards criteria stating it has to be a Scots guy to win it. Jason Denayer was and is a far, far superior player to him.

He's been linked with a lot of epl teams for someone so mediocre.

Luckily, no one is comparing him to denayer.

He's one for the future. I have no problem signing him and loaning him back for game time. My only issue if he was the last person we are to sign before the window shuts.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila confirmed the Glasgow side were still in talks with Caley Thistle on Saturday.
"We'll see what's happening, we are negotiating with them and seeing if we can make a deal," he said.
"What I can say is he's a very good player, with a big future in front of him and we want to get him to Celtic."

    * it. May aswell sign the best youngsters infront of us as others have said. No point spunking cash on the continent on an unknown quantity.

Think hes a good young player who could be a star for us in a couple of years. Same mould as Armstrong, GMS, Allan, Hendo. Infact I think Ronny has a team in mind for the future with the best Scottish talent.

We need a team for the present. Sick hearing about building for the * future.
If players are highly rated now they need to play, they stagnate and don't progress if they don't play, end up costing us money and then are released in few years.

So we've put a bid in, Deila has confirmed interest, as well as John Hughes, but apparently there is 'No Link' according to the thread title. Can someone change it? It looks ridiculous ffs.

Every player I named is playing 1st team football. Ronny would play Christie as well.

So you disagree that we should buy the best talent in the country and instead spend money on somecunt we've never heard of who more often than not flop?

So we buy him and bench him. He doesn't develop. Same thing will happen to Scott Allan. We need players who are young and good enough to waltz straight into this first 11 and improve.

Scott Allan in his 1st few fleeting appearances hasn't looked out of place.

Those ones we haven't heard of, when successful, are far better players than anything Scottish football produces.

So you're happy wasting cash on your Pukkis, Banguras, Ambrose, Derks etc etc in the hope one is a Van Dijk or Wanyama?

You pay half the price for Scottish players, who know what its about to play for us and who have the potential to be good players while already knowing the league.
