McGinn, McCourt, Balde, Flood, Fridj, ect, project raw players who all added up have cost us millions.

GMS is twice the player Christy is, we all know it so is Armstrong, all of our attacking midfield are.

You clearly know what players I'm talking about, like I've said please feel free to go and look.

Yes we have signed some gems, but we have signed far more duds in our current format and it's clearly costing us as we have seen in the last few seasons.

It's not gaurenteed but he is a quality wee player who will only get better, he might become a key player or we might just punt him to a Championship side for a couple million a few years down the line.

What I'm basically saying is we shouldn't be letting young Scottish talent slip by as anymore, I'm still sore about Andy Robertson.

He seems to think we've signed loads of SPL players for £100k-£500k though? :39:

Robertson looked outstanding at Utd. And we should have signed him, but IMO this lad is not like him or others we have let slip. But I know what you mean

If they are the best young players in the league then I'm all for it, GMS and Armstrong for example they have made a massive different and you could clearly see they are a class above in Scotland but this young lad is not. Not in the bracket of others we have signed or not in the past and went on to do well.

Robertson is the one I regret not getting. He is a cracking left back.

The Christie one makes sense as long as the money involved does not affect the signings of players we really need.

No doubting the lads talent. A lot of people speak highly of him.

I could take this comment out of context and and misunderstood it like you have with mine and we have clearly had loads of players down the line when we have only spent 100k-500k or even less than 100k.

But my point was, we have signed countless raw projects and wasted millions, like I've posted countless times we clearly need first team players who will come into the side and add that extra bit of quality, not more projects.

    My thoughts exactly.

We shouldn't let players like Robertson or McCarthy slip through our fingers, we should be the first one to spot them and bring them here, but only if they are worth it.

I think Christie does, he fair * us when he came on for Caley in the 4-2 game, totally changed the game.

There's a reason a club like Swansea are wanting him, he's a cracking wee player.

If you're signing players in that bracket they're not all going to work out.. That much is obvious.

Fair enough, at least we can have a real discussion about it. I don't rate the lad enough to come here and make an impact, but if we do sign him I will support him and see how he will progress but I would rather we sign someone else.

I agree that we do need to add real first team quality, but that doesn't automatically mean we should pass up Christie for £500k.

I'm clearly saying our system that's in place is clearly making us weaker each season and it's showing now when we can't beat the likes of Malmo and others because we will not invest in better players and wasting it again.

We need to change it or it will get worse, I can't image what's going to happen if we don't make the champions League next season.

If he was as good as Armstong the. I would say not a problem, but I think we have much better players and would rather see that 500k go towards another deal.

But I get what you are saying.

I said the same thing a few days ago, I'm all for signing SPFL players IF they are really doing the business and standing out. Such as Robertson, Armstrong, Fletcher, McCarthy etc. GMS doesn't fit into that category as far as I'm concerned. He is capable of magic moments but even at United he wasn't in their starting eleven every week. This league is definitely his level. He's been awful this season and he was the same in a fair amount of our games last season.

Christie, while I admit I haven't noticed him much, seems very highly rated. The fact that Swansea are very keen, as well as others, makes me think he has a fair amount of talent.

I get the idea that if Scottish pundits were to pick between Christie and GMS, most would go for the former.

the amount we have wasted on scepovic, dirk, rassmussen, balde, pukki, ljunberg

I see this as a win win low wages, out on loan to inverness for first team game time, great potential for sell on especially after a full season of first team football

Sorry but i disagree with this completely.
We HAVE better players than Malmo. (Kari Arnesen of Rotherham and Aberdeen fame!!! Come on!!!)
Our players are on MUCH HIGHER wages than Malmo's.
We HAVE invested much more than Malmo, Maribor, Legia, Qarabag etc etc and we have STILL fallen at the last hurdle.

Our team let Malmo back in the game last Wed and they just didn't turn up on Tuesday.

Chucking money at it is not the answer.

So sing other raw talents are the answer? Our current system is clearly now working though so chucking now money or very little is going wrong

Don't agree with you on GMS but like I've said before people have different opinions. GMS did not look out of place when we played Inter and I really think he can push on with us.
