I'm all for buying Scottish players but what exactly is the strategy here? Do we prioritise by nationality or position needed?

Again it's a low risk venture and he may turn out to be a good signing as I've been impressed any time I've seen him play, but I hope we aren't using up all our budget on midfield players when our main weakness is at LB, CB and ST.

    Not 'everytime'.

Folk have a right to be a bit underwhelmed though, we have plundered the SPL more than enough in the past few months and I don't think Christie is anywhere near what we need right now.

If we can afford to * 500k on someone who won't even play for us for another year then by all means.

However I'd expect others to be brought in who will actually make an immediate impact.

Aye so why don't people wait until the window shuts before they say how underwhelmed they are?

We need a CM. A Neil Lennon type player, somebody that can control a game, better than Scott Brown. Not some wee guy from Inverness who won't even get a game. CB, left back and striker like people have mentioned too.

To the people saying he is a cracking player ect the main question is, is he better than what we have at the moment?

Right now, no. Potentially yes. Which is what we seem to buy at the moment.

But it's clearly not working though. We have a few potentially good players no point in buying more of them when we need quality first team players who can come in right away.

End of the day if Swansea bought this boy and he turned into a James McCarthy everycunt would be going bonkers at letting him pass us by.

Can't see any harm in this deal at all.

Will he get the game time he gets at ICT? Not a chance, his career will not progress playing bit part football, at this point in his career he needs 90 mins each week he will not get that at Celtic.

we have held back countless young players progression over the years on 100k-500k deals, if we add them all up we have spunked millions away in pointless signings.

in saying that if we want to sign all the best talent in Scotland to make the other side weaker then It makes sense so we can win the league but that's already in the bag.

We need players who will come into the starting line up. I think I'm just done with this potential thing at the moment cause we are going backwards

Who are these players we've spunked millions on?
James McCarthy? James McArthur? Steven Fletcher? Johnny Russell?

That's lucky then because he'll still be with ICT and playing every week :52:

I agree that we need some new first team players but I don't mind if this goes through, especially as he's going back out on loan I'd hope this has no effect on recruitment for this season. I'm sure they have enough time to send over this offer. It's not like the club can turn round and say ' aw we were gonnae buy a centre back but it took us so long sending a fax to Inverness that we just couldn't get anyone in.

Absolutely no harm in this transfer.

Was watching this video this morning, seems like a decent performance from him. Moving the ball on quickly and lot's of high pressure on their players. Can see why Ronny would be interested.

Which would all be a valid point if we weren't loaning him back to Caley.
