How's it a panic buy wasn't he being spoke about well before now

One or two of our fans, who have been on here for years and are Croatian, are saying the same thing though

 

there wasn't a single sentence in which i laughed at you...
i told you guys, in my personal opinion, at this very moment, he is not a great player.
bad positioning and at times lost on the field...
but he's only 21, tall, fast...and lets not forget that he has sh*t teammates AND no competition in the entire league.
yeah, he was overpriced, but who isn't in modern football?
undoubtedly he has potential, but there's a lot to work on...

There is a big difference between 'not a great player' and being 'one of the worst defenders Dinamo Zagreb have had in recent years'. You said he was '*'.

Appreciate any info you can give about a player we're potentially signing, but it seems like you're not sure how good/bad he is.

Few day ago Celtic sent an offer of 5.5 millions Euros (+1.5 that was ment to be payed after Jozo played 30 official games for Celtic, + Dinamo Zagreb to get 20% of next sell). That offer was declined.

The new offer that is or will be accepted is yet unknown in details but it is surely bigger than the one that was declinded. Press estimates around 7 million Euros to even 10 when you count al the bonuses that usually go to these contracts.

Jozo who was today supposed to attend training of Croatia youth national team was not there but in Glasgow.


Now as far as the player goes, my opinion is that he is a okey player, he has solid tehnicque for a defender. To be honest he did have few "begginer errors" in defence and did show sometimes he gets lost in the play and forgets his player. On the other hand he is only 21, he is still young and in process of learning. Pluses are that for someone his age he got a lot of First league experience with the "big boys", also he is a member of the youth national team, and his height (1.90) is a big plus for corners.

My PERSONAL opinion is that he is an okay player with potential since he is young, he is not * as some say, he did have * performances, but in general he is not bad.

However, no way in * is he worth the money which is being payed for him. 3 million Euro max.

When you say "bad positioning" and "at times lost on the field", if it's occasional rather than constant. I don't have great issue or worry given his age.

As you say, he has potential and I can handle that.

In the last Euro matches all goals we almost get through Simunovic, and have not seen so much stump.
If sold for 5.5 miles pounds then this is by far the best transfer ever. Even better than Modric, and Eduardo ....
Even if you go and Gonzalo it will be interesting but I expect it and two input transfers the defensive midfielder and central defender because too many midfielders went last days.
In the attack, I expect that with Hodzic and Henriqeza play and Badji if need be.

Its almost certain that Celtic are not paying that much for him though, since we never pay that much.

Given that Celtic fans are in shock at spening that much money on a player and Dinamo fans are in shock that someone is spending that much on him, it's fair to say the press are probably a fair bit away with what they are speculating.

All thats been said is that your club has claimed that its the biggest sell on % that Celtic have ever included in a deal. That would make me think rationally that Celtic and Dinamo have leaked to the press that its a very big money deal so that if he turns out good for Celtic, Celtic will try and get about £15million for him by making out we paid about £6million for him, when in reality it will be a low fee and maybe Celtic and Dinamo will each take 50% of what we sell him for.

Could be wrong though, maybe somecunts been putting acid in Lawwell coffee.

 

Dinamo Zagreb is a bad team so being the worst isnt far from the rest.

the reason why i said he isnt a great player in the last post is because i realised it isnt very popular to trash a player coming to a club on which forum i'm writing now, is it?

you really want the truth? i know people will bully me now, but the truth really is that he is one of the worst we ever had, but i told everyone multiple times he's very young and could adapt if you work on him.

i was just trying to be polite with 'he's not a great player'...

 

We've been looking at this guy for weeks, Kennedy even went over to scout him and missed a game while over there for a few days. Folk writing off a player we haven't seen yet or much of, Ronny sees something in him that's good enough for me.

 

No way in * we're paying €10m for this guy, or anybody else :smiley-laughing002: that would make this Croatian U21 international our most expensive ever signing.

We'll see if the real figure does eventually come out but I would be surprised if we're paying more than €4m.

 

We welcome honest opinions from opposing fans, as long as they are delivered in a respectful manner. I think you've done that, so you don't need to sugar-coat your opinions on Simunovic for our sakes.

and once again, he is 21, still developing, potential is there.

i don't understand why people won't just accept that with 21, there are just few good defenders in the whole world...becoming a good defender requires years and years of experience and playing football regularly, thats just how it is.
