Typical on here. He's a dud before we've even seen him play. Give it a rest. What exactly are we supposed to get depressed about signing a Croatian international with some European experience.

Wish folk would quit comparing every player we sign to Ambrose, it was maybe funny the first hundred times. Well now, Ambrose can be punted as well, and you'll all be happier and have less * to freak out about.

    * enjoy the season people. Looks like being a belter.

Eh... I think the Croatian guy might have seen this Croatian international who plays in Croatia play.

    Just a hunch.

Not sure what I'm basing it on but I just have a feeling that he has.

I'm from Croatia, sir. Trust me, not every U21 internationalist turns out to be good. I hoped we would fix our defensive woes, not exacerbate them. This player has bad, bad positioning. He's not strong, either. Kris Boyd (yes, the fat dumpling) would score loads past him.
If I wanted a Croatian player to play for Celtic (and I do), I'd buy Gordon Schildenfeld.

Happy to be bringing in a centre back.
Might not be a van dijk but if he is strong enough to step in and be solid for us then all is well.

Just hope we bring in experience in other areas. Cant be constantly signing projects.

Fair enough. I'll still be waiting to see him play before I make any judgement.

This is pretty much my thinking. I trust the professionals ahead of your average fan.

A lot of young central defenders make mistakes, it's part of the learning experience. Van Dijk & Denayer excelled domestically, but Van Dijk was exposed when he came up against (to quote John Collins) smarter and quicker forwards - and we were punished. Inter Milan springs to mind, when he naively got himself ordered off.

No matter what, losing Denayer and VVD is going to hurt big time. We're going to take a dip in form, that's got to be expected. Just have to hope one from Boyata, Jozo, Blackett, will step up and take charge this season.

See, Schildenfeld is a big, slow type isn't he? That's not the type of defender we go for these days. The last of that type was probably Majstorovic.

    Every signing is a gamble.

I don't really see the point in getting into a state of depression about something we can do nothing about. With the team we have, we might not have all that much defending to do.

Any mistakes and he gets rotated onto the bench.

Not a problem. If it doesn't work out, we'll get the money back selling him on.

Don't have any idea how good this boy is however I think we need an experienced CB to lead the team and help what will be a new back 4 with an average age of about 20 if Blackett takes Izzys place.

There's no way we paid that... maybe €'s, but not unless they're including a whole lot of extras upfront

Edit: not shooting the messenger here, i believe you saw it, but i find it extremely unlikely it's accurate
