Brown redeemed himself after the sending off vs Barca, Izzy will need to do the same.

The free kick conceded was the cause of the equalisier, not IZZY and Gordon was at sorts with another set piece thats becoming a problem.

He's a defender, isn't that his job. The Ajax player knew it was coming and played for it.

We needed a performance from the bhoys and we got it along with a good result, couldve been better but a draw was probably a fair result. Thought Ronny got his tactics spot on.

its your job to defend and keep your shape stick with your man not dive in like a lunatic and kick the ball away that's a bad attitude and signs of aggression which evidently lets your team mates down.

Hoped for a draw at the beginning of the game; when we took the lead twice, though, I started hoping for more, but after the sending off, I'm just glad we took SOMETHING. Decent performance defensively, though someone should've been on the back post for the free kick.

Delighted with the reaction of the players tonight, they really showed some grit as well as good link up play in the midfield..

Commons makes such a difference with his touch, deliveries & vision. Liked the way he linked with Johansen, who had his best game of the season.

Boyata was much better and there's no doubt he can defend, just switch on with your passing.

And special praise to Simunovic who has an assured debut in a tough high pressured game.

To fairly analyse the game, there were some flaws, you could see the Izzy sending off coming a mile and for me Blackett is a CB, so we are still to address the LB position.

Commons should have been replaced before he was too, he's not played much and as soon as we went down 10, Janko should have been brought on. Wrong time correct sub imo.

Griffiths had a really good game but he just lacks real class in front of goal.

Broonie thought was excellent tonight and I'm very happy for Ronny too he got a the reaction desired from the team.:shamrock:

Agreed, but in the heat of the moment a defender doesn't think like that they think about where that player and ball can go if the opponent gets by so you do what comes naturally and defend at all cost.

I am one of the doom sayers and I really hope to eat my words. Hopefully this is not a moment like the match against Salzburg but a turning point for us.

I missed the match. I was working. I would like to ask: How did Jozo play? And is it serious with Lustig again? We are DOOOOOOOMMMED without him

    Press conference after tonight's game

Ronny Deila said he was proud of his players when he spoke to the media after Celtic's 2-2 draw against @AFCAjax in Amsterdam.

RD: "When we were 11 v 11, we had very good control of the game. We played well and created chances and defended as a team."

RD: "As a team, we had a great attitude and I'm very proud of the boys. When we went down to 10 men we had difficulties."

RD: "They had more crosses into the box & we had to deal with that. If you see the whole game, a draw is ok & an important point.

RD: "Their first goal was great play and was hard to stop. Sometimes you have to give credit to the opponent."

RD: "In the second half we controlled it and created some chances as well and were dangerous from set-plays.

RD: "But when we went down to 10 men, we had trouble.

RD on @kcommons15 "He creates things. Kris is a very good footballer. Very unlucky this year. Out for six weeks with injured toe.

RD: "So he hasn't started so many games. We know he can create things & is very experienced and I wanted experienced players tonight.

RD: "I was happy with Jamesy and Kris. They worked very hard for the team as well. But they have quality as well.

RD on whether he considered taking Emilo Izaguirre off: "It was very difficult as he had very good control of El Ghazi.

RD: "In the first half, he didn't do anything. He got caught once inside once but it was very difficult decision to take him off."

RD: "We also had players with cramps & some of the players hadn't played so much and needed to come off, so difficult situation.

RD: "The first yellow card, I couldn't understand why he (Emilio) got booked.

RD: "For me, tonight was about attitude, discipline, organisation - and the boys showed me tonight that they want to fight.

RD: "We have got a point away in Amsterdam & that's something we can take away with us and that could be important in the group.

RD on Ajax's second goal: "It went through all the players and it was a very good delivery. A difficult one.

RD: "We still have to work on that but we scored on a set-play as well, so going the right way.

RD: "Everyone knows we can play football and are a good football team but tonight we needed a performance and some confidence.

RD: "You get confidence through good performances and if you can back that up with points then it makes it much easier.

RD: "We put in a good performance and that gives us a lot of energy and confidence.

RD on Jozo Simunovic's debut: "He did very well. You can see he's going to be a good player for us.

As JC Anton said, Jozo was assured and played well, he has a pace about him that I wasn't expecting. Fairly solid.

Lustig looked like cramp to me, we've got the Real Tim Saidy anyway, do not fear! :50:

Would have taken that before the game. Decent performance marred by the troublesome Izaguirre and an embarrassing flap by the goalie. Do we need to be worried about Craig Gordon ?

Anyway, bit of credibility restored tonight.

It was a tremendous point tonight. I don't know how we got it though. I just wish we had someone with a bit of individual quality in the midfield to help us get up the pitch instead of constantly losing possession and having to defend wave after wave. A Zivkovic or a Vlasic, even Richard Almeida would do a better job.

It was a hard earned draw. But * me it was frustrating to watch.

If we can beat Fenerbahce at home, then we'll be 4 points ahead of them going into a double header vs Molde... that would be quality.
