    This.

It's absurd that we have to face teams from the Middle East and Asia.

this is it, what's the point qualifying if we are worried by this mob. We'd be turned over in the CL proper if we struggle against teams of this calibre.

We probably will get turned over a couple of times if we get in the group stages of the CL but I'd take it to get back there. Love CL nights at Celtic park, nothing in football comes close. Plus the revenue it brings should mean we would be in a better position next season. Rather finish second bottom of a CL group than play Europa

Yeah of course mate, I'm not saying I'd prefer Europa. That would be mental lol but I do think EL is probably more our level right now. Qualification and 3rd in the group is ideal for me, the revenue and prestige of the CL but then the genuine possibility to compete in the EL as well as euro football after xmas.

That's the thing though, this is the qualifiers. We aren't there yet. Hence the constant nerves.

Once we are there I'm fully expecting us to get turned over at least once. :smiley-laughing002: But * it. Because we will be there and the money will already have been wired to Lawwell's private offshore account, never to be seen again.

Not as if teams like Malmo, Maribor, and Shaktar Karagandy were all the cream of the crop to face in the playoff round. Pretty much all of those ties, we shot ourselves in the foot and ended up blowing it bar Shaktar of course. I'm happy with this draw tho, confident we can get through this team :50:

Agree. It really annoys me. Soon we'll get Moroccan teams in it too.

If we win the first leg to 0 then I think we'll go through.

Going to be a nervy one, desperate to be on the big stage again and no matter how tricky a side these are, we really need to be getting past them if we want to raise our status as a club again.

it worrys me slightly that Olympiakos didn't manage one goal against these their either very lucky or very well organised maybe a bit of both its definitely not going to be any walk in the park that's for sure

Maribor have beaten every single Scottish team they've played as far as i know... and although we made a task of it we did do Shaktar over the 2 legs.

Malmo and Legia WERE the toughest teams we could've drawn I think. The fact that some people underestimated them doesn't deflate them at all. But i don't remember who any ofvthe alternatives were, so I could be wrong...

Yes but I still stand by the fact that we could've and should've beaten Maribor and Malmo. Those 2 were easily beatable and a team with our resources and talent completely blew those ties. I never watched the Legia tie, seeing the highlights they looked great on the counter but our defence was also horrific. I see where your coming from but I do think that we were the stronger of the two teams we faced the past 2 years and we could've gotten more difficult opponents as well.
