Another thing is I wouldn't really fancy us to beat Legia over 2 legs as much as some other teams there.

Dangerous tie in more than one aspect.

As the history books show, we humped leiga 3-0 at home but they were very strong at there own ground so wouldnt fancy it. There fans still blame us for efes 3 overhead kicks from the half way line goals and id anticipate trouble, so id take someone else.

    Mon the Beer Sheva.

If they could win at home vs Olympiakos that would be a brilliant.

These would all be very difficult ties if we get through, BATE have been in the champions league many times, Dinamo Zagreb are a strong team, Legia would be very tough....dunno who'd be the best draw tbh :39:

I think avoiding Legia would be best all round to be honest.

I'm not sure if Legia are better now than they were when we faced them, but I wouldn't be reading anything into our games against them. We were a complete shambles then.

I don't think BATE are anywhere near as solid or strong as they were a couple of seasons ago.

Why don't we just get by Astana first, if we can knock out Astana we can knock out any of those other sides.

Just done a bit of analysis there, if we get past Astana then these are the current probabilities of us facing the below teams (based on their likelihoods of reaching the Playoff round along with their likelihood of being unseeded given all the other results):

And before anyone asks I work for a sports betting firm doing statistics analysis so this is right up my street :smiley-laughing002:

This is turning into a really * qualifying campaign for the away fans: the ones who went to Gibraltar were treated to one of the worst results we've had in a very long time, only a handful could afford to go all the way to Astana (nearer Beijing than Glasgow!) and now, even if we get past Astana, you're saying there's an almost 1-in-3 chance of a trip to Warsaw, Belgrade (dangerous trips) or Azerbaijan (halfway to China and expensive as *)?

    Fabulous. :54:

Call me a negative fud if you like but I don't fancy us up against any of those teams. A few years ago I'd have been much more confident.

Looking at the most likely teams on an individual level none are ideal but that's the reality of where we are right now.

Zagreb and Copenhagen are good teams, Belgrade probably aren't as good but the atmosphere over in Serbia will be quite intimidating and might put fear into the players. Rosenborg seem like the best option although they're no mugs either.

Belgrade are a lot better than Zagreb and probably Cophenhagen now adays too, they destroyed there league, would of went unbeaten if they didn't play a bunch of u19's in last 5 games!

Being honest I couldn't give a * who we get out of that would like Qarabag again because we could dispose of them same way as last year but most games will go along lines of we struggle away and dominate at home

If we qualify we'll get a nice trip down to Barcelona as usual :56:

Yeah, I was thinking Qarabag would be good but I realised we'd have to travel all the way to Azerbaijan, making two really long trips in the same qualifying campaign would be * for the players. Legia would be one I'd want to try to avoid just because they'll be fired up and even if they don't play well they'll try to kick the * out of players for "revenge" perhaps...

    Negative fud :bbpd:

I'd fancy us against most of them... I'd prefer to avoid Zagreb and Legia though.
