He said they looked frightened. They did. They didn't play football. Do you think Ronny asked them to play as they did. Losing the ball, not working hard etc. Do you think they were scared before the game? Of course not. All of them had a shocker at the same time. Not one stood out. Even the Captain Brown didn't show any guts and spirit. He use to get the others going. Not tonight.

Bin the scouting dept! Interact with the fans on signings if need be too many "old methods" football changes we need to as well.
Get the dross out this team bleed young hungry smart players and give us a quality spine to work with.
We are in need of a attacking minded coach to work transitions.
The players need a good long hard look at themselves an think of the fans.
    I feel empty

Yes we need to spend money but we seriously have to be wiser with our recruitment. Too many duds are signed, if we are to get into the champions league we need quality players not decent players. I want to see Celtic getting beyond the group stages of the champions league not just settling for getting to the groups after sneaking through after been lucky in the qualifying rounds

    It's not enough

We might as well just spend as little as possible to win the spl and just get pumped in first qual round for champions league...

    That should save money!
But with same result by end of season.

We were all hoping for qualification tonight where the prize wasn't the chance to actually win the European. Cup but rather 20 million in cash to line the pockets of 'the board'
Nothing to do with actually winning it!

    That's how it's seen!

English clubs see it as a chance to win the European. Cup
The millions is just a wee bonus / expenses.

It's hard to believe that we actually made last 16 a couple of times in recent years !

Can't see it happening for a long time now!

I do blame English football and the money there for killing our game and eventually the game in Europe (although that's partly because they are buying into it so much)

I'd love to see a European club league
Even if just to refresh things.
We can still play scottish teams in cups and would make meetings more interesting when they happen.

It's not a good situation we are in and pribably unique to any northern hemisphere league right now!

Can't see an end to it though!

Griffiths was left isolated too often proving that one up front does not work for us. I know a lot of teams deploy this tactic in Europe. Difference being they have the strikers to make the ball stick and midfielders who know what positions to move into to support. Our passing is also too predictable and are always running into dead ends in Europe recently. Also lacking guy who will take the game by the balls and gee every one around them. Broony is looking jaded. And Johansen for me has very little balls. Too often I've watched him waste passes and he seems to panic in front of goal. We do not have enough savvy going into these type of games. And when a team that can be built for a fraction of our cost leaves you wanting, I'm afraid it's back to the drawing board. Yes the players are at fault but Ronnie and JC's face didn't fill me with confidence with about 25 minutes to go. Needs sorted as soon as possible.:38:
Also zonal marking is total pish.

If Kilmarnock and Inverness can score 2 goals each against us, why would anyone think malmo would struggle. Instead of buying more lightweight midfielders Ronnie should have bought a defender or two. All 4 goals Malmo scored were preventable with basic defending.

At the very least hopefully he goes * through them in that dressing room.
At least he can see what we saw and was not under any illusion that it was bad luck or any * like that. We were * horrendous.

    * passed, * long balls that went nowhere. Being cut apart defensively, no communication whatsoever. No one looking for the ball. Nothing creatively.

Just no other words to describe Celtic tonight other than *.

Had it not been for Craig Gordon theres no doubt in my mind, they'd have ran rampage and scored a 3rd and a 4th with absolutely NO response.

    One wee addition...,

It might be interesting over next couple of years to see just how the money funding English football pans out !

Ok they have billions for the next couple of years . But we all know how quickly they spend it ! There s a lot of wrangling over tv rights ( and that's who's giving them the money ) st the moment (sky , BT etc) but it will be interesting to see just how things pan out as many many people are getting wise go free streaming and just not willing to pay for tv coverage .

No subscribers . No adverts . No billions for EPL!

I think they are at BOOM right now . But there will be a BUST!
    Eventually

Would be interesting to see how they got on paying players with just st and gate receipts and highlights money!

Very disillusioned with football altogether right now .

The best teams in Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Denmark) + Scotland, in one league. Best team directly to Champ.league. No 2-4 with chance to qualify for Champions league. That would be a way to make teams more competitive also in Europe. The problem would be all the travelling. I know it wouldn't work, but it would've been great for all countries (or just Celtic in Premier league).

What I don't get is, how come we always face these teams with a far smaller budget than us yet they all look better and more composed on the ball?

There striker tonight, Djurdjic or whatever his name is was ripping the pish out of our defence and midfield at times. Lewicki, Adu and even Berget never looked under pressure.

Our team looked like they were passing around a bomb, couldn't get rid of it quick enough.

When you buy a ticket you're supporting Celtic through thick and thin. Don't protest by blanking the team when they need you the most. * UEFA is one of the best protests I've seen, it was pure satire. 60,000 fans singing Here We Go Again when we beat Barca was pure harmony. Celtic will always be there for you, so should you be for Celtic.

A 4-2-3-1 relies on two good fullbacks who are comfortable on the ball. We didn't have that tonight so why play it? Leaves the one up top getting no service. Also think that's why our midfield were so ineffective.

Same story for us away in Europe again... cant say im that suprised to be honest. Thought we didnt look that great in the home leg and it was a poor showing tonight.

Thought Forrest and Armstrong looked decent at times but just a poor team performance overall. Gordon hasnt reached the high standards he set last season imo and i thought Johansen was pretty poor over the two legs.

I think we have a decent group of players with good ability but are lacking in experience and quality. Unfortunately the board will as usual show little ambition in fulfilling this. We cant expect to be getting into the champions league without it.

Im fully behind Ronny and the team and am looking forward to the Europa league. A lot of good sides in it. Id rather be competitive in it than getting beat in the CL. There will be plenty of tough games in the Europa.
