I knew something dodgy would happen as soon as I heard 'Serbian Referees' in the dugout. Also the bumble bee and other weird away kits - I've always been superstitious about them in Europe.

On a realistic note, another example of Ronny talking a good game but the team not delivering. I love Ronny and I'm sad to see him under pressure. It was quite upsetting to see his post match interview.

He'll need to clean sweep domestically and have a good Europa League run. Fix his tactical naivety and decision making and he can do special things here. As for Europe, we really need to substitute pressing full backs for an extra striker (4-4-2). You can throw all the SPL defensive stats you want out there but Europe is a total different level - we concede too many goals.

To finish - I'd like to see us play with a bit of this cockiness that European teams have. Malmo fans were amazing tonight, If we had 60,000 of that we'd be unstoppable!

Well said! The Norwegian experts also said the quality of the league fails Celtic. They meant what you said. Perhaps playing in Europa league some years can help. You can't do anything about the quality of the league. That said. I've never seen Celtic play a game when all players out on the field were equally bad. Crazy

The board wont be spending anywhere near £10m by selling VVD. On that showing tonight we would be lucky to get half that for VVD!!

    unacceptable

our 20+ mill squad against their, what, 5 mill tops?? never mind wages, which is the real indicator when it comes to the better team generally.

total annual wage bill for us (this includes non playing staff) £48.9 mill. cant find malmos cost atm but i'll post if i do find them.

absolutely gutted. blame has to lie at his feet. first leg should've buried them. 2nd leg such ineptitude and naivety, schoolboy sometimes. not what i'd expect after a year of him in charge. not much in this season now. folk are kidding on saying europa league is better for us. thurs sun thurs sun now, stinking.

a strachan team, a lennon team woulda beat this mob. time to stop blaming scottish football (looking at you collins) and get this sorted. starting with set piece defending. shocking it was. we're not as good as we think. midfield was an absolute shambles tonight. tactics and preparation lies with one man.

we need a belter of a season for him to change my mind otherwise we go a different route. he'd have two full seasons by then. if we dont come away with at least a double then he has to go. we are too easy to exploit. teams are catching on. how many throw ins did they have that split us open? schoolboy.

one thing that lennon was good at was making a player become a better player i think this is something ronny has to work on i think we would have qualified last season and this season if lennon had been here

    Post Match Press Conference

RD: My reaction is quite simple. We were not even close to the level we can be at.

RD: We looked very uncomfortable on the ball and we didn’t want the ball.

RD: We looked frightened and scared. That’s disappointing and we did that as a team.

RD: It wasn’t one player here or there. It was a team performance that was not at the level we expect in these games.

RD: We lose and win together. That’s how it is. This is my responsibility.

RD: This team was not up to the level we can be and I’m a part of that. I’m a leader in this team.

RD: We have to learn from this.

RD: We knew if we were at our best we had a chance to go through but we weren’t even close to the performance we wanted.

RD: Malmo deserved to go through.

I wanted to avoid malmo before the draw was made- I said earlier their defensive record has home was very impressive but everyone on heres saying we will beat this mob there *, I really duno were they get the confidence, our recruitment has been hit and miss, our management has now failed their 2 biggest tests, we concede goals in Europe for fun, the players seem to freeze in big games and our board is happy to plod along till sevco reappear. We have stagnated badly in the last few years.

Can tell how bad we were when were not going mad over the * officiating too much, the * were first to everything, cutting out * passes and surrounding anyone who got a touch in their half, couldnt even take advantage of their carcrash defense.

So did I!!! Think the only team we would have hd a chance was the Albanians and we would have probably made hard work of that too!!

That was one of the least inspiring Celtic performances ive seen in Europe in as long as I can remember.
    Painfully poor. So, so disappopinting.
Just shows, that last second goal from Berget was the killer if you think about it.
We would NOT have went over there with a 3-1 lead and not scored.
3-2, massive psychological edge for them, given their home record, TWO away goals, and their deciding leg-home advantage
Where was Stefan ‘player of the year’ johansen?
We mustered two shots on target in the entire match.
With 60 minutes played, we were clueless.
Griffiths up front on his own is not enough of a goal threat in Europe. He played out his skin in the first leg, but tonight looked lost.
We couldn’t even get it in their final third until the last 5-10 minutes. We were so unimaginative.
I thought the only player in the first half that caused danger was Armstrong. He looked hungry, he ran, he took players on…subbed at half time.
Stefan Johanson done NOTHING, and tonight once again proves how over rated he is.
The only that can pick us up from this is a good run in Europa League. Theres some good team in their and team be dropping into it from the champions league groups 3rd placed team (Imagine we got Malmo in Europa League?).
And I don’t mean by just qualifying from Europa League groups, I would have thought that that was expected (then again, I expected us to qualify for CL proper this year (Ronnie was 100% confident, remember). I expect us to qualify and have a real battle through one or two knockout rounds in Europa and restore some European excitement that we so desperately need. Such a massive blow tonight.
An SPL with no Rangers, and another year with no CL.
    Very poor Celtic.
So much for “500% more confident” of qualifying for CL.

That would be nice but as long as they were players with genuine quality. We have spent a lot of money on players like Pukki, Bangura, Boerrigter, Balde that haven't been cheap yet they haven't helped us qualify for the champions league, not even been good enough for the spl
