As are Hargreaves and Owen. * hate BT's coverage.

Sky has the far better pundits.

I said this earlier in the thread. All the money they spend on football you'd think they'd try and get some decent pundits in.

Peps biggest job is getting rid of that weak * mentality city have got, theyve got too many players who simply dont work hard enough on a consistent basis, cl semi final and at no point during that match did they look like they were giving it theyre all.

Honestly believe they need to go out and blow £200m or so on a whole new spine.

    Hummels
    Pogba
    Verratti
    Higuain
    Reus

    Would be a start.

    Hart

    Otamendi Kompany Hummels

    Verratti Pogba

    De Bruyne Silva Reus

    Aguero Higuain

Build on that with good youngsters like Denayer, Iheanacho, Sterling.

Steadily ship out slow, methodical * like Toure, Fernando and Fernandinho. Eventually you'd want to replace Kompany too.

The best teams and best players play in Spain. Therefore that is the best league. People that argue otherwise I genuinely think they don't have a clue.

It definitely won't. They spin it each year to how * there doing. Goes from the best, to most competitive, to most exciting, to most watched to.......best prawn sandwiches?

They all are terrible. Rio Ferdinand is probably one of the best, if not the best they have. He's ok but it sums up BT. Hargreaves, Owen, Savage (who is milking them dry with his own co host show as well), McManaman. Can't think of any else off the head but no doubt skipped a few. That Ian Darke has always been a bitter biased * as well. I'd say Ferdinand in the studio and Hoddle and Trevor Francis are who I can listen to and tolerate most..

Poor lot though with the money..

Rio is very good surprised to see him on BT though SKY would be the far better gig for him

Wish they'd get more non-ex footballers in as pundits. Give me a knowledgable journalist over some moronic retired player * barely capable of speaking any day.

The thing is though, they've spent billions trying to become the best side in Europe, same as other English side's and they aren't even the best side in the country. Psg, even though City knocked them out, have a much better side, probably more feared in Europe and have done it in a shorter time..

It's pretty embarrassing what they've got overall just now and that this is only there first semi since the Sheiks came in..

There's no way he can defend the EPL anymore.

It's definitely out of order mate aye.

However with Guardiola coming in I now think they need to freshen things up big time.

For the money they have spent, they haven't really been targetting the right players recently. They should be going all out for the very best, not buying guys like Fernando, Fernandinho, Navas etc. They need more Silvas, Aguero's and Tevez(from a couple year ago).

They have had the most success with guys like these in their pomp. They have the money so just go out there and get these guys. 4 or 5 like the ones I mentioned, combined with the experience they have gained and a coach like Guardiola...you could see them really going up a few gears.

The team has become stale, boring and has completely lost it's legs.

Problem with that is City wouldn't achieve those 5 for 200 million. They spent that on Otamendi, Mangala, Sterling and DeBruyne. :56:

Gundogan and Laporte have already been agreed apparently and they're chasing Morata. Definitely huge changes in the Summer.

It's going to be interesting to see if Guardiola can imprint his brand of football on the EPL. He has the attacking players to do it but he'll have to do some work on the back end of that team. Their midfielders aren't great and their back four is poor.

Aye it was just a rough number mate.

They could go further than £200m anyway, it's not really a problem. :smiley-laughing002:

Laporte, Gundogan and Morata would be excellent.

Add Reus and Pogba too and you are onto something. I still rate wee Verratti however, brilliant player and would suit a Guardiola side down to the ground.

The loss of Kompany and the slow decline of Yaya Toure has contributed massively to Man City's struggles.

Could see Barca trying to get Laporte they have been sniffing about him for a while, although if Athletic have the choice they will want him to leave La Liga, and were Liverpool not linked with Gundogan aswell but big changes are defo needed

They have to, he has to, and they no doubt will throw silly money at it with the new Sky deal coming in. The English market is gonna go to another level now, especially when you see Conte at Chelsea, Klopp first proper window at Liverpool, Arsenal will have to really dip, Van Gaal or whoever at United and of course Pep at City..

Guy's like Navas and Fernando aren't going to take you up a level to compete for Europe. Verratti is a great shout. I think he's a fabulous player but would you leave Psg for City just now, is the money that different? Will it take his career up a notch? Barca could do worse than earmark that little star. You'd have to think Conte (ex tally manager) will be looking very closely at him and I could see that fit..

    Hart

Genuinely think they need a whole new back line

    Fernandinho new deep playmaker

New right winger De Bruyne/Silva New left winger

Aguero and another striker to compete..

For all Pep is weak defensively. He'd never have went out as measly as I saw first half. If I was a City fan I'd be raging just now. Good though, I'm delighted one more is out..
