Dutch League is forecasted to go from 8th in the rankings in 2014 to 16th by the start of next season. Probably end up with the Dutch Champions qualifying for the CL in our section in 3 years.

 

That's quite a drastic change. Is that due to other leagues getting better or mainly the Dutch getting worse?

 

Was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. Couldn't believe the commentator (who the * is that btw?) going on about it being the correct decision until he seen the replay. Was a ridiculous challenge to make in the box.

 

Mainly the Dutch getting worse, they arent producing as good a talent now as they did before and their teams have basically been stripped of all their best players in recent years so the quality of their League has dropped a lot and their teams are doing a lot worse in Europe.

Their League currently sits 10th the now, the lowest spot its probably ever been in, in 2000 and 2001 it was 6th and usually flirted between 6th and 7th in the 2000s then 7th, 8th and 9th recently but now 10th and dropping like a stone as they will lose 13.6 points when next season kicks off which was the 4th best points a country got in 2011/12 and in the last 3 seasons they've only been averaging 5.5 points a season.

It was clear from first view it was a penalty. Mystifies me how these officials behind the goal misread these situations so badly.

 

So far this season too Dutch teams have the lowest points out the top 26 countries only 2.08. Azerbaijan, Israel, Belarus, Scotland etc have more so far - Sweden have more than double the points.

Just turned on the second half. Wolfsburg are a good wee team. Will cause United alot of problems.

 

It's quite sad to see mainly because not only have their best players left but the money men are buying most of their youngsters before they've fully developed. Developing youth was supposed to be one of the ways to compete with the richer leagues. Might be more to the Dutch problem though because it's quite a dramatic fall.

 

Terrible week for English football will be overlooked by golden hand's. Certainty..

 

Interesting player that Martial, never really seen him before this season but he does look fast as * and he can run with the ball, not been on the ball much in this game only once or twice but done ok. Be good to watch him as the season goes on, weird style of player - he actually is quite like Henry or Shevchenko.
