Dont know if this has been posted already but Souness, Harry Redknapp and Brian Kerr were on TV3 the other night for the United game.

Souness was talking about United's group and said something along the lines of, 'Borussia Monchengladbach are a poor side, and the German league is quite poor at the moment.' The other two didn't pull him up on it either.

Are these * actually for real?

how funny is seeing * failing every year in europe, I enjoy that so much that it even sort of makes up for the disaster thats been (and probably will continue to be) life after fergie

personally I thought we were quite mediocre but still shouldve drawn the game. I think theres somewhere a good side within this united squad but van gaal hasnt been able to figure it out

the shaw injury was terrifying and every decent person, no matter who you support, is gutted for the guy, hopefully he'll recover soon but its difficult to imagine he'll ever be the same player again

Hilarious considering the time they have had now - its not exactly the first year and Chelsea were doing not bad after a few seasons.

Also, why do you cntinuously stick up for Van Gaal? Surely you'd want better? I mean would you not rather Klopp?

Or even Guardiola - his contracts up soon, think United might be waiting it out for him. Never saw Van Gaal as long term but the money he has had seems so.

Don't really think Van Gaal has had a say in most of the money. Most of the signings i'd say have come from above his head. Obviously Blind and Depay the exceptions.
    I don't know.

As for *.... It's hilarious watching them fail. Pellegrini has the look of Mowbray about him.

van gaal has some forward thinking ideas and hs a pretty meticulous manager, I like that. We've been excellent against the best sides in england, and at times we've looked utterly dominating, but this is the season for van gaal to show some real improvement. The stretty screams every home game "attack, attack, attack!", and that didnt happen even under moyes. Not sure van gaal is aware of the culture at this club, we're one of the handful of clubs in the world that not only demands wins but attacking displays. Like river plate, ajax, real madrid or barcelona, we've got a culture of attacking football, and the fans are used to (spoilt perhaps)

sounds quite pompous I know, but I know united fans and alot of them are not happy with a win if it means sacrificing exciting football. Even under fergie in his last seasons when he became more cautious, the hardcore section of the stretty were quite annoyed by this negative football. Thats why a lot of us never warmed up to queiroz and his 1-0 philosophy

but perhaps ferdinand was right, time and failure will reducate us like liverpool fans were reducated to the point their football with benitez was considered beautiful and great by most liverpool fans (but described by valdano as * on a stick)

well if liverpool won it the way they did, or chelsea, anything is possible. Likely? no, but guardiola's bayern isnt the unbeatable team some think they're, benitez is a good cup manager but still hes benitez, a fat clown of a man, and then barcelona that hopefully will be knock out by PSG.

there you go, we're champions with a last minute fellaini goal, against sevilla.

This is what my crystal ball told me, and you dont argue with a crystal ball

I'd say Man U have a team who could easily get to the semis but it would take some amount of luck with draws in the latter rounds. They're better than some of the teams who get to the last 16 and even a couple beyond that, Portos, Shakhtars and the likes.

Can't see it but, I reckon they'll get to the last 16 and draw one of the favourites.

we've been excellent against good sides that try to attack us. * against sides that defend deep because we arent a very creative side, but for once in the last decade we actually have a pretty good midfield that can pass the ball and move it around. Schwensteiger-schneiderlin-carrick-herrera-mata, those are exactly the type of players who do very well in europe.

now, not many people remember but the moyes side that was awful and inferior compared to this one, almost knock bayern out of the competition.

so yes, aside from barca, on a good day I think we've got the tactical setup and style to beat almost anyone. Now, let me make myself clear, Im not saying we're one of the favourites, but its not impossible to think we could do quite well given the right circumstances ( and the right circumstances happened often enough in this competition for teams like porto, liverpool or chelsea)

people forget that we've signed this summer almost half of the starting eleven (darmian, the two sch, memphis, martial), have to play some in a new position (blind) and our best player last season (de gea) had a massive soap opera over the summer and wasnt on the ball. So yes, I expect we'll get a lot better once the new players are more used to their teammates and system

We're not the magical magyars but we arent the laughing stock some people think.
