"The club have had Sébastien Pocognoli watched, a Belgian left-back who in on the fringes of the West Brom squad.

Emilio Izaguirre has played better recently that he did last season, but the position remains one Deila believes has to be strengthened.

Pocognoli, 28, has 13 caps for his country but has fallen out of the picture at The Hawthorns. He is available for a modest fee"

Has anyone seen him play? (or used him on FM :icon_mrgreen:)

West Brom fans seems to mostly rate him:

    http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=14014.225

"A player falling foul of the shift from identifying a style of play and bringing coaches in to (try to) coach in that manner to bringing in a coach with his own style of play. Clearly identified as the attacking full back that most supporters craved and now surplus to requirements under an extremely defense focused coach.
Another possible right player, wrong time scenario."

"I liked Pocognoli for his tackling and forays forward, but at defending crosses he was sometimes dreadful. The first time I saw him in a pre-season friendly at Forest he was underneath the ball defending a cross and we conceded from it"

"People talk of him as an attacking full-back but for me I thought he was very good defensively.

I can remember him having one bad game and one poor first half.

That isn't bad by any stretch.

Superb in the tackle too - although I guess that might put Pulis off weirdly."

"I think he was our top performer before Pulis came in and whatever happened needs to be out to one side for the good of the side. We lack width - bring Poco in, put Brunt on the left and Macca or Sess on the right, width problem solved with players we ALREADY HAVE!"

    I'm sure I have.

Was he not touted as a wonderkid on an old version 2005?

Anyway we are in need of a LB - I think this would be a good signing.

    130 games in Belgian league.

    65 games in Holland.

    30 games in Bundesliga.

    15 games in Premiership.

    Looks quite experienced at 28.

From the comments on him he sounds like Izzy.

I'm not that optimistic about this. He only played his games in Belgium and Holland, in Germany and England he sat most of the time on the bench. Don't rate him higher than Izzy.

Don't care if he can or not, if he matches the amount of goals Izzy sets up I'd be very surprised.

There might be some merit in this one. 28 and he looks like he can tackle and attack which is an upgrade on Izzy and at 6ft is a good height for a full back.

Well their national team is ranked 2nd in the world, they must be doing something right.

Rightly so considering their national teams attitude to our league. They don't write us off so it's a good selling point and gives them one less excuse to leave.

Wimots attitude towards us is a * godsend if we're looking towards Belgian players.

Yeah I agree, I think we should be actively targeting young Belgians or players on the fringe of the national squad. Judging by some of the rumours that may be what's happening.

Considering the talent that Belgium have been producing that is exactly as we should do.
