Did they, fair play.... Every club should go on strike and show the FAI up for the absolute disgrace they are... Bring world wide attention to it... Imagine the embarrassment and attention it would bring on the * Delaney...

That would be brilliant. I think all LOI clubs should follow Derry and reject the cash * the FAI.

OT, good win (5-0) for Rovers the other night with our new French striker netting on his debut, came on as a sub in the 63rd min and scored four mins later.

    Europe here we come :icon_mrgreen:

Great stuff from Brian Kerr. He said exactly what the majority of LOI fans think of the "strategic plan". 100k between 20 clubs is an absolute joke. It will do nothing to help the league progress. The FAI will give each club 1k each year for the next 5 years.

I'd say when the majority of people on here looked at Dundalk's win they must have thought Irish Football is on the up. The reality is that it really isn't. The league is on it's knees and the FAI don't give a *. Gavin says the FAI have helped improve the standard and helped Rovers get into the EL. That is laughable. They did nothing. Rovers moved to Tallaght, got good crowds, had games against the likes of Juventus and because of that they were able to build a decent team and qualify.

Give this a watch if you want to know the state the league is in and the pure stupidity of the people who run Football over here.

Kerr is spot on. Your man from the FAI there is so out of touch its not even funny. Sums the FAI up to be honest.

Yeah something needs to be done about it. The clubs seem too afraid to do anything. I think all LOI fans should boycott Ireland games. The big problem is that LOI fans are a small minority. Crowds could increase because of the feel good factor after the Euros. I love to see the national team do well, but even after we were knocked out of the Euros I didn't feel as disappointed as I felt I should have been.

Watching all the Irish fans in France and then going to Dalymount watching Bohs struggle to attract 1200 is frustrating. A lot of this is down to the FAI. They have no interest in promoting the league. They are an absolute disgrace.

John Delaney gets 360k a year for dong * all. The prize money for the league winners is only 110k ,a quarter of his salary. He also called the league a "difficult child". The FAI brought in more money from fines lat year then what as given to Cork for Finishing 2nd(55k) I think the entry fee to get into the league is 19k. You need to finish in the top 6 to even get that money back.

The greedy * even have a sponsor on the jersey, probably the only country to do so. Delaney put 5k behind a bar in Poland during the Euros for Irish fans, at the same time Monaghan were struggling. They would have needed around 6k to keep them going. They didn't get the money and went bust. The FAI are as bad if not worse then our politicians.

Would have went if it didn't clash with our game. Most of my mates got tickets, only a tenner each.

Hearing they have sold over 15,000 tickets.

Witha bit of luck , hopefully the bottom tier will be filled up.

Hopefully get over 20,000 anyway.. Plenty of Polish here and England so hopefully that will boost the crowd, 10 quid a ticket is deadly...Whats the chances of recording our game and not hearing the result before I get home...ha

TBH 10 quid a ticket is just stupid, the club could easily ask for twenty and it would be considered a fair price for a CL game.

We had this debate when Rovers were playing Rosenborg and the club charged 20, and even then when you took into consideration extra policing/stewards and the cost of sending the club on the away leg, 20 euro actually only seen them about break even. (the game was a sell out 4k fans)

    Anyways gluck to Dundalk :shamrock:

Heading up to the battle of the Rovers tonight, should be a good one, were unbeaten in six :shamrock:

Not every ticket cost 10 euro, the only tickets that cost 10 euro I think were the tickets for down in the corner by the big TV screen. The other tickets then cost 15 euro and 30 euro for the premium seating I think.

I can sort of understand a neutral going to see Dundalk on Wednesday but any other LoI fan cheering on Dundalk is an absolute fool given the cash advantage they are looking to earn. It is not good for the league, it is good for Dundalk solely. No surprise to see the Bohs minnow latching on :56:

Will be interesting to see what the crowd ends up being. Hopefully they get good local support as well as their own supporters coming down for the game as I would imagine there will be a fairly sizable Polish contingent at the game too.

Would have hoped it would be closer to a sell out at €10 a ticket. I'd have loved to go along if Celtic weren't playing at the same time.
