My understanding is that had to do with Limerick looking for investors and Essien looking for partner clubs to link up with his youth academy in Ghana.

I wouldnt be that confident of dundalk going through, I watched against bate last year and thought bate were comfortably the better team, this and the game being in tallaght would push me toward thinking bate would be strong favorites. Although I am hoping dundalk can do the business.

Bate could have scored 5 or 6 in Dundalk last year.

Think they will win 4 - 1 tonight

Dundalk @7/2 is a bit tasty, for a wee added interest.

I certainly don't 'expect' Celtic to beat either, as it happens Dundalk!

Superb performance by Dundalk - no way imo would Celtic have beaten Bate Borisov 3-0

Sad to say that, but true.
Been a fan of Celtic for almost 50 years & a share holder for longer than some on here have lived!

Said on here before Scottish soccer is now on a par (at best ) with Irish soccer and other small national leagues.

Desmond and Lawell hands in pockets & penny pinching with the likes of joke Delia & 2nd rate players , have Celtic also dragged down to the level.

Hope for better - but even a magician could not turn around years of that reality overnight or realistically even in a season.

Dundalk are streets ahead of anyone in Ireland at the moment and have been for 2-3 years... Cork have done well to hang onto their coattails.. Scottish Football is still a little better than Irish football, certainly in terms of facilities.. For example ya stick Hearts into the Irish league they will probs win it alot, stick Dundalk into Scotland they dont...Yes we have under performed in recent years, no arguments there mate

Fair play to Derry for rejecting the 5k from the FAI. All LOI clubs should do the same. The FAI are an absolute disgrace.
