Someone said last night, the psychology would've been so much different if we were 2 0 down and came back to win 3 2. We would have been the ones buzzing and confident then. Crazy

Return leg is arguably our most important game in the past 5+ years.

Why not just since Maribor or Karagandy?

This is bigger imo, not least because of the extra £10m available.

If we lose, that'd be two years without CL qualification. It'll be two failures out of two attempts to qualify with our new manager which would be far from ideal too. That's when the murmurs start with people asking if he should go.

It would also mean that Virgil is 100% gone and we'd have * all money available to improve our team which means it'll be even harder for us to qualify next year.

It just doesn't bare thinking about.

I'm very confident that we will win the next game in Malmö, why would we not? We beat Salzburg with 3-0 3-0 at home and Sparta Prag with 2-0 at home. So we will probably beat Celtic with 2-0. My only worries is that the team is so used to win at home that they forget to do the job!

This beeing said, it's not my intention to sound cocky, or beeing an arrogant *! I have never understood the whole -all other teams are * agenda!

I like Celtic, a club with fine traditions! But we have reason to believe that we will win this one after that late goal. 60/40 in Malmös favour.

    It's all psychological mate.

The fact that they scored right in the last minute meant their fans left on a high and our support were rather gutted at the end, despite dominating a credible side for the majority of the game and scoring three goals in the process.

The best example, which has already been used several times, is when Guidetti scored the last minute equaliser against Inter back in February to get us a 3-3 DRAW.

Not even a victory, yet it was celebrated like a victory simply due to the circumstances, eg, last minute winner that gave us a psychological boost going into the return leg.

with reactions like this am thinkin away leg second might be best for the team, nervy atmospheres and cl don't mix.

If they think they'll be able to attack us next week on the back of the second goal I'd bet us to hammer them. When are defence on alert for 90 min they look solid , if denayer was here no way would these mistakes lead to goals.. If we're gonna dominate possession both your CB's need to have class and idea on the ball and we struggle with taking a lead. Maybe a little cocky after half-time.

Away from home you can see the players are confident in the system and when we play like we can other teams seem to really struggle, especially our fitness. Malmo fans going on about these two players, I'd be more worried if they'd played last night to get a feel of the game, not too worried about roseburg- meeting brown and van dijk for the first time will make for a nice evening :50:

The fact you've twice referred to Guidetti's last minute leveller as a "winner" perfectly highlights your point. It was a disappointing end, but not an entirely terrible result.

We had the highest possession in a European game, I feel like anything is possible now

Johan Wiland isn’t holding back about what he thinks of Celtic.
He accused the SPL champions of acting like pigs during the Champions League play-off first leg between the two teams at Celtic Park on Wednesday night. Celtic won 3-2, but the Swedish side go in to next week’s second leg with a fighting chance after Jo Inge Berget’s crucial second goal in added on time.
“They are pigs, all of them, that’s the way it is,” Willand told

Oh yeah that Guidetti goal was a beauty haha everyone bouncing off the walls. I made quite a few posts last night but I had to keep correcting myself when discussing the score becuase more than once I typed 'when they scored that last minute winner' or 'I can't believe we lost a match we comfortable should have won' :smiley-laughing002: I felt that gutted, I think we all did for a while.

But yeah it's amazing what psychology can do and makes me understand a bit why some sportspeople hire psychologists to get back that winning feeling.

I feel like hiring one just to deal with the pre game stress of watching Celtic haha it's now going to be a full week of it!

Seems heavy, isn't 'pig' a universal pejorative term of the worst kind? I'm dying to know what we did to warrant that.
