Just as well he was then, otherwise he would probably have scored more than 2 goals!

Stefan said on Norwegian Tv that the players were told exactly what they should do by Deila, keep pressing and don't let them in the game..and they knew fully well. I've heard both Griffits and Brown say they had full control of the game, but some sloppy mistakes cost them the goals. Why is always the manager to blame. Don't you think players can let the manager down by not doing what he asks of them in certain situations?

Delia didn't do anything * wrong tonight he's doing his best with what he has...any * having a go at him over this should * look at themselves ( or are on the wrong forum, petroleum jelly cup is that way --->)

He went with the strongest team, didnt play shifty or ambrose until forced into it....

Ronny has done nothing wrong at all here, we where just the undoing of ourselves tonight

There is no need to start freaking out.

Malmo need to beat us outright next week. Are they good enough to control the match, and play it the way they will need to, to ensure victory ? They patently are not.

I expect us to win over there but even just a solid, professional performance will be good enough for a draw.

Given game time against DU to help get him up to speed I think he would do better as a defensive left back. Less likely to give away silly fouls and a better distributor of the ball.

Boyata needs to be told to pass to the closest freeman. He also needs to be sure that said freeman has a matching jersey to his own:icon_mrgreen:

Worst I've felt after a win. Absolutely brutal. We were the better team by a country mile and switched off after Johansen got booked. I don't see us getting through next week, its a * curse. Such are the dunken sorrows of a tin foil tim.

I think what this game showed is that Malmo have a really good mentality as I didn't rate them much as a football side, but you look at us tonight and it's just sheer stupidity and naivety that we've not won that game more comfortably.

We still have the chance to prove we're just as mentally strong as Malmo and we can do that in Sweden, but you look at Malmo tonight and they barely done anything yet came away with what they'll view as a good result.

I think that's where our problems lie in all honesty and I thought we might have actually sorted it out as we looked assured against Qarabag, but those two goals we gave away tonight were criminal.

Should be an interesting game over in Sweden but I'd be lying if I said I was confident in us going over there and getting the result we need. Here's hoping though.

Yes but it was the Manager who brought on Efe and Ciftci.

Griffiths was closing players down until he was subbed. Hardly * all.

im not laying all the blame at deilas door but you can clearly see he panics in the last ten in big games .... changes tactics to ultra defensive when in the lead causing massive amounts of pressure on defense happened in two games against quarabag

He isn't *. He's been playing very well in Malmø. They didn't have many chances or much of the game anyway. He did his job, scoring goals.

But their team cost 10 times less than ours so how does that fit? Plus we looked 10 times better than them in the first 20 minutes. It's more of a mentality thing. With a 2 goal lead we had no pressure and we relaxed too much. I just hope the underdog status we now have suits us because under pressure our quality should shine through. Our passing for the first goal especially is a reminder of how good we can be especially when teams leave space at the back which they did with their pressing the midfield.

The worrying thing for me is that we conceded 2 goals to an average team. They must be a better than what they have shown tonight. They have to go into next weeks tie as favs to go thru. Our midfield does not protect the back 4. How many times tonite did we leave 2 on 2 at the back? This should NEVER happen. Brown caused the first goal with that stupid header he give straight to Malmo. They went down the right wing from that mistake. He did the same in the first half but Virgil's pace got him out of trouble.

he has to shoulder some blame for the fact he even still plays ambrose, and im not sure he needed to bring on cifti, stokes and scepovic are still options

Izzy was excellent away Qarabag, I think he will be given same task to play defensively and sit back more, he obviously plays better having to concentrate on just one job instead being attacking and defensive.

Just back from the game...what happened before the corner at the end where they scored with Johansen?
