Aye I would say so they seem hyped up to *.

He played in Europe last season and did nothing. According to Wiki he played 9 games and scored 0.

Sounds stupid because he's a striker, but goals aside he doesn't have much to his game. At least Guidetti could hold the ball up, impose himself physically, plays nice one-two's, he had skill as well. Griffiths is extremely limited.

Why wasn't there a stampede of interested clubs looking to sign Griffiths in the summer then? :smiley-laughing002:

What did he do for us last year in Europe? Anything of note?

There was hardly a "stampede" for John either.

Well, he's playing in one of the top leagues in Europe now, isn't he?

I know a lot of our fans don't like him because he thought he was above us, but there's no denying his talent.

I know mate. You'd think the four horsemen of the apocalypse were coming to Parkhead on wed the way Malmo have some folks alarm bells going.

And yeah I reckon Griff should def start, he can score in Europe for us, just needs to go do it an believe I himself. :50:

Although if Shifty was to start I wouldn't be surprised as he does hold it up and link a bit better, either way we will win at home and won't concede. :celt_2:

Astra: home - bench. Away - played 15 mins.
Zagreb: home - played 12 mins. Away - bench.
Salzburg: home - played 90 mins. Away - not in squad.

Inter: home - played 75 mins. Away - not in squad.

You can't say Griffiths had a fair crack at the whip last season. I've every confidence in him to produce in the CL/EL this season. He'll give defenders problems in a different way from the likes of Guidetti/Ciftci through his movement and non-stop running.

Maybe the four horsemen will be at Celtic park.

Nadir needs games just now but then again I would rather see Griff start

In Fact I wouldn't be against playing both Nadir and Griff on Wednesday. :icon_mrgreen:

Just had a look at the online tickets stadium plan, looking like a healthy crowd for Wednesday.

Would guess we are around the 50k mark at the minute so should be pushing towards a sell out come kick off time.:50:

He is, and good luck to him.

However, I honestly feel he's been extremely lucky to get that move. His career consists of one good season in Holland and a decent few months in Scotland.

Edit: But as you say this topic has been done to death so let's leave it there :smiley-laughing002:

I think a way could be found to accommodate both Nadir and Lee in the side for Wednesday.

In all honesty, if our support have reached a point where they're happy going into Europe's premier competition with a selection of strikers that consists of Leigh Griffiths, Nadir Ciftci and Stefan Scepovic then I don't know what to say, except that standards have obviously dropped of late.
