2-1, turns out they're not the best at crosses either. Just need to watch them on the counter attack. Reckon they have more to be worried about than we do

"They play a typical British style of football - strong endurance, a lot of long balls," he said of the Glasgow side managed by Ronny Deila.

    Quote from Djurdic.

According to a post a few pages back.

    I love this post...

    But I agree with this guy;

You make a very good point.

The Scottish media love to exaggerate where Celtic is concerned The more pressure they can heap on us the better, the more opponents they can draw out for a negative quote that they can twist, the better.

We (Celtic) reside in a strange country where the media, even in European competition, are trying to pile pressure on, to distract, to actively seek us to fail, even though it further hurts the sport in the country they earn their living from.

Strange strange wee Country. Parts of it anyway.

Djurdic has obviously been asked what Celtic play like due to his experiences before and he's said it like he remembers. We were more Scottish in style against Helsingborg

We do play a lot of long balls. A lot of switching the play, long diagonals...

Absolutely nothing wrong with that though, it can be very effective at times.

They are just trying to unsettle us and play mind games, Ronny doesn't give a * what they say and if they watched the 1st half of the match today they won't be talking about long balls or an easy team.

I've never watched the Allsvenskan League, but it must be the case that they have better pitches, better stadiums, fully equipped training facilities and more competition than in Scotland. The Scandanavian leagues have better infrastructure, fan engagement and appeal than the SPL. I don't quite understand why they aren't able to take it to the next level European competition. Celtic do exceptionally well in comparison to the rest of Scotland. They just aren't Celtic football club, we're simply better than them, and like Elfsborg and Helsingborgs, I'm sure we'll progress comfortably against Malmö.

It's pretty simple really. No Scandinavian club has a fan base anything close to what Celtic has.

Not sure the fan engagement is much better in Scandinavia either tbh. The EPL is hugely popular here as well

Nice. We need to rock them big time at Parkhead. Our defence is proving to be very resilient.

With a couple of goals scored at home, that should be enough to see us through.

Fan engagement in Sweden is enormous compared to the likes of Norway and Denmark.

Sweden has almost twice the population of Norway and your attendance average is 40% higher so far in 2015. Go back a decade and Norway actually had higher average attendances than Sweden, so I 'm not sure what you're basing this on

    * sake. So it's not just the team and manager that's smarmy. The fans also seem to be smug *.

Can provide you links and quotes if it would appease you? Legia mark 2, you can just feel it from the * mark my words.

Maybe having a superiority complex is a desirable trait in Malmo. Over here it's just * rude.

Sean we are a million miles away from playing a "very British type of long ball" football. We all know that carries a very negative connotation when playing outwith our shores.

Of course some press will jump on and magnify this but to be fair Malmo are just providing them bullet after bullet.

Who the * are Malmo to act arrogant towards us with zero provocation? Really want to see Broony get at them over 180 minutes now.

    Wait
    Wait, what?
I'm not a Malmø fan, but a Celtic fan. I'm Norwegian, like Deila and Hareide (Malmø's coach), so I just said that Deila and Hareide knows eachothers playing philosophy since both of them have coached teams in the Norwegian league at the same time and played against eachother many times. Wasn't it one of the players who were quoted? It would be really strange if Hareide said Celtic played long balls when Deila has never played that way even in Norway.

Btw Their coach, Hareide, played in the premier league for Manchester City and Norwich in the early 80's.

If there were a CL for bickering, we'd surely be among the favourites.

To our Swedish visitors, how do Malmo compare in quality to the Elfsborg and Helsingborg teams we faced a few years ago? I thought that Helsingborg side was fairly decent.
