I think we're better suited to home legs first tbh.

Crowd is less anxious and we look far more capable of putting in disciplined and compact displays away from home when we're hopefully at least a goal up.

I fancy us scoring home and away, hopefully with another few matches under the belt we'll have more than enough to get past Malmo, won't be easy though.

    2 matches and we're back in :celt_2:

Here's the thing; we're a better team than Malmo. They've got a few players that would, if in form, fit into our starting eleven (Rosenberg, Adu and maybe Eikrem), but in the other positions, we're simply put better. However, Malmo has consistently shown throughout these past couple of years that they are no mugs at home, and have beat similarly on paper better teams like Sparta Prague and Salzburg comfortably at home.

Just like we can rise above our "on paper skills" at home versus better teams, Malmo has done the same on a smaller scale. I would not underestimate them, and if we don't get at least a two goal cushion at home, I'll be * worried.

Moreover, of the three players I mentioned above, two of them will be suspended in the first leg. We simply have to be able to get 2-0 or 3-0 at home. Anything else is a disappointment.

It best be. I'd be disappointed if it's not. I'm sick of supporters only turning up when the party's started rather than being there to see us make it.

Thanks for that. We've also had one or two decent results in our recent past.

It will be two good games.

If we could go to Sweden with a 2-0 lead I would be ecstatic.

Expecting a hard game here. See all the people trying to explain away their results in previous qualifying games, I heard all this crap last year before Legia Warsaw.

My bet is that there won't be much between the two sides, I'm expecting a harder tie than the (difficult!) Quarabag tie. If nothing else they seem to be more clinical.

Oh well, if we are good enough for the CL, we will beat Malmo, if not... Will be an interesting indication of where exactly we are.

I prefer home first. I usually see that we are more likely to win at home than away so it's better to take a lead for your more difficult game.

I like playing at home first as well. If you keep a clean sheet and win, you're in a great position. I also think that when teams get a good result away from home in the first leg, they can tend to be complacent for the second leg as they feel they've done the hard part.

Last season against Maribor for us comes to mind, we played quite well away to Maribor and got what was a very good result at the time. The home performance was a complete disaster then..

I'm going to be honest, I know nothing about this Adu, other than he's a centre mid. I'm having a hard time believing he could displace Bitton or Brown in our line-up.

A friendly warning to the Malmo supporters on here. Win or Lose, you'll probably exit these two games with a real dislike for our captain Scott Brown, he's an absolute warrior and loves to wind the opposition up. You's will hate him. We love him.

Best central midfielder in the Swedish league. Was crap against Salzburg in the latest game, been brilliant in every other game I've seen him in. Better than Bitton or Brown? Surely not Brown, maybe Bitton, maybe not. Come to think of it - who gives a *? Either way, he won't be playing in the first leg, and that's the important part.

Cannot wait and buzzing for this. Going to be a tough couple of games but think our fitness will get us there in the end.

I think the tie wil be very close and could go either way up till the final kick; nothing in it.

Don,t think the ticket prices are that bad either. I know £27 is a lot of money but think the price for a Champions league play-off is pretty good considering its £26 for ICT and St Johnstone tickets.

Personally I am well chuffed the total cost for me and the wee bhoy is £29.

lot of good players in that malmo side.adu,lewicki,eikram,berget,molins,rosenberg,sana,wiland,djurdic.

better than the legia and maribor sides we faced last year.a step above the elfsborg and helsingborg teams we faced in past seasons as well.
