I must be the only one who likes the away legs second, if we're up from the first leg it puts the pressure on Malmo at home and of course there is always that away goal that could be a difference maker.

Clean sheet at home is essential. Any kind of win and clean sheet please! Confident we'll go through.

BTW I'd much rather an away trip to Sweden than going to * Kazakhstan or some place like that again.

Good draw. The road to the San Siro starts here boys! Nir Bitton will score a screamer from 30 yards as we dispose in of Mourinho's Chelsea in emphatic style in what Celtic fans have called the Great Revenge.

Hi! Here follows a presentation of Malmö FF’s results since 2010.

Our results at home in the last 5 years of european qualification:

    Malmö FF - Torshavn - 2-0
    Malmö FF - Rangers - 1-1
    Malmö FF - Dinamo Zagreb - 2-0
    Malmö FF - Drogheda United - 2-0
    Malmö FF - Hibernian - 2-0
    Malmö FF - Swansea FC - 0-0
    Malmö FF - Ventspils - 0-0
    Malmö FF - Sparta Prague - 2-0
    Malmö FF - Red Bull - 3-0
    Malmö FF - Zalgiris - 0–0
Malmö FF - Red Bull 3-0

(As you see we have conceded only one single goal)

And the results in groupstage at home in EL/CL the recent years:

    Malmö FF - Metalist - 1-4
    Malmö FF - AZ Alkmaar - 0-0
    Malmö FF - Austria Wien - 1-2
    Malmö FF - Olympiacos - 2-0
    Malmö FF - Atletico Madrid - 0-2
    Malmö FF - Juventus - 0-2

We have also played three friendly matches at home against well known european teams the recent years:

    Malmö FF - Fulham - 0-0
    Malmö FF - AC Milan - 2-2
Malmö FF - West Bromwich 1-0

As you can see, Metalist is the only team in the recent years that totally thrashed us at home. We had no chance. But Atletico and Juventus really had to fight for their lives to beat us. We always create a crazy fanatic atmosphere at home which gives us an "extra player". Don’t think this is going to be easy.

Our results in the away matches is not worth mentioning though. We often score but we always suck anyway and concede a lot more goals than we score. - Except in Skottland ;)... Remember Rangers - Malmö FF - 0-1? Or Hibernian - Malmö FF 0-7?

So the important thing for you is to keep a clean sheet at home.

Looking forward for our two games a lot. Especially because you are a classical team. Good luck to you!

    /MFF-fan

Decent draw. Glad we avoided the Kazakhs and Partizan.

Think it'll be a very close tie, we'll edge it out though. Clean sheet at Celtic Park is a must.

Happy with getting Malmo. Both teams will be very highly motivated to go through so it should make for a cracking atmosphere. Also more confident that our players will have better match fitness by the time the tie comes.

It will be tough, our strikers need to start scoring. Ciftci doesn´t fill me with confidence, but I trust Deila to pick the winning team.

Flights booked for this. 60 euros not so bad.

Went to see Malmo in March this year as have a friend living there and flights were dirt cheap. They've a decent side, a certain Jo Inge Berget among them. They're under-performing in their domestic league big time at the moment, though. They won that particular game 3-1. Reckon we've enough to get by them but the tie in Sweden will be key!
They've a fantastic support base too and I'd expect a lot to travel to Paradise. I know a few of their Ultras and they were in touch with me today looking forward to it.

I think some of you guys are way out of your depth, in terms of football knowledge, when saying both the Swedish league and Malmø FF in particular are *, because Berget is doing decent in that league and in that team.

He played, according to Transfermarkt, a totalt of only 169 minutes in the SPL during his loan spell at the club and he managed to bag a braze in one of the games he was involved in. Yes, he was not up for CL football at the time he was brought in, but he had not played regular football since he left Molde in 2013. He was out of shape, he was played out of position and he had barely been training with his new teammates when he was thrown out there in a CL qualifier - not a recipe for success, that. This was also, you should have in mind, in a period of time when the whole team was struggling to settle, and none of the players were performing at a level they are actually capable of. Expecting an out of shape loanee to perform at that level so early in his spell at the club, is just not realistic.

Given time, I am sure Berget would have been a decent player for us. Ronny was, I believe, a bit desperate for results at that moment, and stuck with lads who were already proven Celtic players, leaving no room for potential rotation squad players.

As a Norwegian football fanatic, I have followed the lad closely since he was about 19, and he is, I can assure you, a very decent footballer who is doing quite a good job for one of the best Scandinavian teams at the moment.

My message would be then, that you guys should not underestimate the Swedes, and especially not if you are underestimating them just because you think Berget is * and he is their top scorer for the season. That just proves your football knowledge is poor.

Michey - A defender of unjustly rated players (especially Norwegians), and waiting for people to think I am crazy, saying Berget is a decent player :)

Look at the goals Malmo scored against Salzburg, especially the third. Terrible defending - we'll be better. They look good and will be dangerous but let's be honest, we're better than any team in Sweden.

Bit of a disadvantage having the 2nd leg away but we should have enough to get past them. We'd be delighted if we drew a team like Malmo in the Group Stages!
