Celtic manager Ronny Deila speaking to the media in Baku:

RD I'm very happy. it was an exciting game. There was so much nerves.

RD: I’m proud of the team and the midfield and defence was excellent.

RD: We met a good team and we should have punished them more but I’m just very happy and proud of the boys.

RD: The most pleasing thing was that we went through and that we got a clean sheet.

RD: We talked about conceding goals in Europe last year and we look like we are improving

RD: We have had good tests and I think Qarabag are a very good football team. They way they play has no fear and it’s attacking football.

RD: You see we were a team that stayed together with communication and discipline.

RD: We have two more hard games but we learned a lot and we believe we can do it.

RD: The other teams are thinking the same way. We just need to keep winning football games. #UCL

RD: We are sure whatever team we’ll meet won’t be better than @FKQarabagh It’s close in European football but this team was good #UCL. (MD)

RD: There are a lot of tired bodies in the changing room but it's easier when you go through. #UCL

On that finish he got the ball behind him. Obviously he should have put the ball over the goal keeper, but he was a bit out of balance. The reason he gets that kind of chances every game is because he makes great runs. He makes some bad passes (his not the only one), but also some really great ones.
Thats how he is as a player. He gets alot of critisism in here as I have seen, but very little praise for his workrate. A team needs that kind of player too.

Phew!!! But you know what, not as much of a 'phew!' as I thought it was gonna be. Players were great, Ronny gave them instructions and they followed them. Far from the prettiest game of football but an absolute spot on performance for what was needed. Well done bhoys!!

One wee thing I'm gonna add. Loved seeing Armstrong saunter off when he was subbed. Hearing them booing loudly made me think, that's what teams do to us when they are in this position, running the clock down etc, I know it's not hugely significant, but for me, another wee touch that shows we're getting savvy in Europe.

Id say they're probably worse than Legia and better than Maribor. They're better than Helsinki, Elfsborg, Shakhter comfortably.

Because they're one of the best teams in Europe and have world class players all over their team and so lots of people want to watch them. We aren't and don't.

In hindsight, it's hard to see why Qarabag were so fancied by some people coming into this tie.

You could count on one hand the amount of good chances they created over both legs.

We could have scored at least 2 tonight ourselves, the Johansen miss and Forrest squaring the ball when he should have buried it in the corner, one on one with their keeper.
