Teams going for champions league spots should not be allowed to continue if their pitch is in that kind of state.. * ridiculous that..I kinda fear the worst if we are playing on that surface

 

If it's a * pitch just go physical, * passing it about on a pitch where it's very difficult to do so.

Just had a look at temperatures in Baku. During the day over 100* and at 9.30, the KO time in Baku it will be around 90*. Whew! It'llbe just like Ayr on a sultry August! Hope Griffs puts his Tunocks in the freezer! A tough tie just got whole lot tougher.

 

I like that team and think we should be playing that kind of shape in Europe, is Charlie fit tho?

You've got 7 six foot plus players in that team, a solid shape and pace on the wings. Got to think that's worth a few goals from set pieces, it's also a team that can play football, not just hammer throwers.

 

If the pitch is as bad as has been reported, good chance the game could be postponed to another date.

Aye, a defensive midfielder is worth it's weight in gold in Europe. Look at how solid we were with Wanyama shielding the defence. Charlie's nowhere near that level but he's big, strong, clever defensively and good on the ball.

In a three man midfield, shielding the back two, I have no problems with him there. Also very easy cover to slot into LCB when Van Dijk steps into midfield.
