Why didn't he just run up the line? I think he's incapable of actually doing that. Always, just always cuts in no matter where on the park he is or what's happening in front of him. Boy needs a brain transplant.

Thought he done ok, much more of a threat than Armstrong possessed. I just think he should run at defenders more and commit them.

Good run near the end but the final ball to Griffiths was poor.. Could have been through on goal if he'd chose the correct option.

Wasn't terrible when he came on but he is ineffective.

one second he looks good the next he is * like one point near the sideline all he had to do was play straight pass to tierney and he passed it out for throw in its the simple wee mistakes that infuriate me and the points were he runs himself into nowere

I'm one of Forrest biggest fans but there's no point in even debating a case for him these days, no matter what he does people will focus on the negatives, it doesn't matter if he's played well for made a positive impact.

There's a clear dislike towards Forrest from the majority of Celtic fans, its irrationality, he's not played great however if the vast majority of the team plays * - Forrest gets it, even if he's been the better of the lot.

The dislike for him completely overpowers * opinions of him as a footballer.

He didn't play well when he came on but it was a good tactical move, position he was occupying stretched the game, bit more room for Roberts and looked more dangerous going forward.

3 good subs from Rodgers tonight.

    You disagree?

This is a guy who couldn't even keep possession by passing the ball 10 yards back to his team mate when we REALLY needed to keep possession......you know, the one he tried to pass it in a straight line........and it went out for a throw in to them?

You could say the same for a lot of our players tonight tbf mate.

I recall Lustig doing the exact same early in the 2nd half & O'Connell putting it into the touchline and Armstrong passing direct to one of their players, off the top of my head.

The same James Forrest who was our target man in Europe last year because he was the only one who could keep possession and pass it 10 yards?

Annoyingly the only time he's shown any desire in the last 2/3 years was in Europe last year, while he was frantically trying to find a new club.

Good subs by Rodgers today, he did well when he came on. If we had Sinclair where Armstrong was today, we would have had a more balanced and potent attack on both sides of the pitch.

    I do today, aye..

He was just on and beforehand our player's were giving it away for fun, contrary to the after match possession stats, and that pitch was ridiculously fast at time's..

He gave us a much needed outlet on another flank when Roberts was going a bit quiet, much more than the first half. Also put in a slide tackle to halt an Astana dangerous move, much more than the likes of Armstrong on that side, who never made ONE challenge all game, or his sidekick McGregor..

He's deserving of a lot of slagging but not today, not for me..

I'm critical of him, but he did well tonight. Showed at least a bit of desire and energy which is rare for him.

Needs to look at the example of Paddy though. 10x the work rate and determination of Forrest. Forrest would never have chased and won that ball for the goal.

He is our best option right now on the lef tand one of the only players that will always look to run at the oppositions defences. think he has to start for the home leg, wont be relying so much on roberts and will havepace on each wing
