I've never doubted his ability to be a great player for us mate, we get glimpses of it every so often, but his attitude is awful. I just don't think his heart is in it anymore, a move would be good for him and us :shamrock:

His good days are few and far between but his inconsistency and effort is very consistent !Hopefully it will end with a goodbye James!

Won't do him any harm getting the armband in a friendly. He was probably quite shocked.
So why would it make any difference, well because it puts the weight of the team on his "shooders".

With the armband comes responsibility, and you need to set an example to the rest of the team, that means work rate.

It's basically Broony saying, "There's the armband, go out and earn it." If it gets him fired up i don't think it's a bad thing.

Like many will say he has the ability to be a great footballer but his work ethic and application are dire, that's his biggest problem.

'On his day' 'scapegoat' 'unfair stick'

Phrases that have been pedalled about him for years now. The stick he gets is warranted, some might be over the top but on the whole folk have every right not to like him.

He isn't even as good as people make out. Pace isn't the be all and end all. Technically he is quite poor and his final ball/decision making is honking. Can't shoot either and he'd be as well chopping his left foot aff. He's not the first player to have a bit of pace and the ability to beat a man on the odd occasion.

I think if some opened their eyes they would see that there are so many players like Forrest across the continent who could do a better job for us.

He's a wee ungrateful *. We'd all gee our left baw and more to play for Celtic ad wear the captains armband.

I think it was more the case of Forrest being the next longest serving player and it just being chucked to him.

A hot poker up his * wouldn't even fire him up!

I wish he would go back to the days when he would hold his arms out to the ref when he lost the ball.

For me, he is at the "point of no return". His head and heart is no longer in it. A change will do him the world of good, maybe. In a way I'm sad that its not worked out as we all hoped but he's the only one to blame for that.

Guess I'm one of a few who doesn't see the talent, imo there's no way Forrest has what it takes here to be a Celtic great, in fact he's shown he's pretty much incapable of even nailing down a starting place in what some would say is the worst Celtic side in recent memory.

He has decent pace but struggles to use it, and even then his no real speed merchant in the mould of Agathe etc. His crossing is mediocre at best and he has a one trick locker. The defensive side of his game is non-existent and the less said about his attitude the better.

He's too limited for us technically, and a mental-midget to boot as harsh as it may sound.

He definitely helped us when breaking. Had the beating of the right back, and gave us another genuine threat that worried and had them retreating, and not just relying on Roberts down the right..

Also broke a couple of there attacks down, excellent sliding tackle being one when tracking back..

Much better and almost put Griff through for a winner after skinning the full back..

Good 3 sub's from Brendan tonight and it paid off..

Did next to * all when he came on.

Poor, poor, poor excuse for a footballer. No brain, no intelligence - a wee bit of desire WHEN IT SUITS HIM, but other than that? * all.

That run he made inside, then that *-awful attempt at a through-ball for Griffiths? Pathetic.

He had a positive impact, if only because he didn't stay on the pitch long enough for Astana to realize his final ball is completely useless. They would have been better off just letting him run with it :smiley-laughing002:

Showed how much we need an injection of pace, Armstrong and Roberts playing wide at the same time don't have the pace to lead a counter attack. If we had Sinclair and Forrest as his and Roberts back up I think that would help us no end, we'd be a different team.

Forrest certainly pressed their defence back where Armstrong and Dembele did not. Looked dangerous running at their right back. Final ball should have been better with a chance to set up Griffiths.

Did more than Armstrong when he came on, but still not good enough on the ball. Did well to beat a player near the end then chose the wrong pass for Griffiths.

Sort of sums him up as a player.

Seen it coming a mile away. Should have put Griff in behind the defender and instead curls it round the outside of the guy and it goes out for a goal kick.

    Mince.
