On his game he is far better than anyone else we play on the wing right now and nobody can deny it! As above inconsistency and injury have ruined him!

Wasn't he one of Europes top prospects by UEFA ?

IMO him and mulgrew will both play for Bournemouth

While I'll be glad to see the back of him, it does worry me slightly that we offered him a 4-year deal. That suggests to me that he was very much in the managers plans, hopefully they have a much better replacement lined up. Having Forrest in the first 11 can feel like starting the game a man down all too often.

You get the feeling he's been more than content just to be a famous footballer in Glasgow and all the trappings that brings - he's achieved a certain social status that has completely ruined his appetite to improve and succeed at the highest level possible

potential lost to the trappings of an average modern footballer

he'll look back and regret how his career went....maybe

Interesting thoughts. I could maybe see Forrest playing in the lower EPL/Championship but Mulgrew? I reckon he'd be looking at Hibs or Ross County/Inverness or something.

Supposed interest from them for mulgrew... Wether it's true or not who knows but I could see them both leaving for the same club

To be honest he stopped being a youngster with potential like 2/3 years ago, he's a year older than neymar ffs.

That was start of the season apparently interested in Mulgrew, doubt it though very much :smiley-laughing002:

Yes he was in that top prospects list at one point. Still an excellent player on his day. Sadly he just never has seemed to be able to stay injury free to really become a regular dominant player. I would rather have seen him sign the deal and stay but we are not short in attacking wide players so it's not like we need to go buy a replacement for him. Technically his contract is not up until December so assuming he moves on this summer we will likely get at least some kind of fee for him.

I know that but you would often hear him described as having bags of potential even this season. He is more of less the same age as Vic. I have heard something similar re Scott Allen over the last couple of months

On his game ? You mean the twice a season he actually has a half-decent game? He can walk for me and the sooner we get the likes of him and the other dead wood of our wage bill the better !! He will end up in the english championship (if hes lucky) and then be back in scotland in a couple of seasons imo !!

I've always tried to stick up for him and hoped he would fulfil some of his potential, but * him. Ship him out for any money we can get give some others guys more game time. Aidan Nesbitt may get a look in.

got to be honest will miss his " arms flapping it wisnae me that lost the ball" act.
The club stood by him for years with all those injuries, - he has actually went backwards a bit like the rest of our squad. He won't find a bigger club than Celtic (Liam Miller anyone?) Will disappear like others and end up in the English 2nd division.

Don't think people are actually revelling in how it's worked out. I think every fan to a man would love a Jimmy Forrest playing with heart and fulfilling the potential he showed on his break through. People are more frustrated with the amount of time he spent injured and what appears to be an attitude of could do much better elsewhere. Hope it works out for the guy. But it has been three seasons of patience for us, time to part ways.:50:

Never going to fulfil his potential here, he is scared he will get injured so ducks out of challenges. If he gets caught with a tackle wants to sulk for the next 10 minutes doesn't want to do the hard work tracking back but wants the glory. Good luck to him on his move if he does actually move.

He would have been majorly found out at Tottenham .Especially when you think Mcgeady struggled to make an impact at Everton .

If there was any truth in that then he would have been sold
