Gash players don't score so many goals against good teams mate. Naismith would be FAR more effective in this Celtic team (or any Celtic team for that matter) over Forrest, it doesn't matter how we play because James is that useless anyway. For me, he stopped being an effective player in 2013. When he first broke through in 2010, scoring some lovely goals I really did think we had a gem in our hands. He was 100% a better player back then, it's tough to watch him now. I really do think if he was playing for Inverness or St.Johnstone he wouldn't look out of place.

So when it comes down to it, both getting paid the same wage, you'd have Forrest over Naismith? Seriously? Putting the fact he used to play for Deadco aside.

When it came down to it I'd rather have neither. Wouldn't have Naismith in any team that tries to pass the ball about.

I can't stand him either mate, he is a much more effective player to have than Forrest though in my opinion. A player who offers almost nothing in far too many games.

See that's the thing, any time I've seen Naismith the team plays better without him. He actively hinders them with his inability to find a team mate with a ball. He works hard, he can pop up with a goal. I just would never, ever have him in any team that's trying to play football.

Forrest either hides or does alright. He isn't as effective infront of goal or as hard working but he doesn't consistently give the ball away or slow the game right down.

We don't pass the ball about though under Ronny. :smiley-laughing002: Fair enough mate. :50:

So what's actually happening with his contract situation? Is it true we offered him an extension and he's stalling? Does he actually think he'll do better than us? Looking forward to seeing Paddy Roberts, honestly expect him to blow Forrest out the water.

Forrest usually doesn't get involved often enough to give it away or slow the play down. It annoys me seeing a professional who is chronic on the ball, however, I would say a player who lacks effort is even more frustrating, because there is no excuses whatsoever for lack of effort. If it was a choice between Naismith and Forrest, if we are looking at it purely from a footballing point of view, then I would have Naismith every time.

I can see why. I'm not saying anyone's wrong here and basing it mostly on Scotland but I'd not have Naismith in any team except way lower down the league or if you're just wanting cluggers.

I'd have him in old Stoke City but nobody like Swansea.

I made the mistake of saying he's a poor player who has done alright down south. * seemed to take exception to it, it spiralled :smiley-laughing002:

Was it a coincidence they only started dropping points once he was out? Truth hurts. He's a quality player that has some kind of brain the realises himself old co don't exist.

I'd say Everton played some nice football in the 2 and a half seasons under Martinez. It doesn't make sense to say he's only good for teams who don't pass the ball. He can be effective no matter what style his team are playing. He has popped up with vital goals since his Killie days.
