Best for both parties if he leaves, he is 25 and has stagnated if not went backwards, maybe be better for our team and the player if both get fresh challenges

Naismith's better until it comes time to actually play football.

Guy can't do * all with the ball. If you want a hard worker he's better.

Naismith is way better than Forrest, technically they are for different positions, but Naismith can do about everything better than Forrest, use of the ball, score and is one of the best in the air I've seen for his size, reminds me of Cahill, the Oz one.

Don't like him, but I don't even think it's up for debate.

Wee Forrest needs to go though, never been a huge fan, I did say some time ago that Greg Wylde was better than him, lol, that may have been slightly off the mark, but I don't believe I was wrong in thinking Forrest just wasn't going to cut it.

Use the ball? Seriously? The guy can't pass worth a *, can't beat a man, 2nd touch is generally a header.

He works hard. He's a * shocking football player though.

Forrest can't play football at all though? :smiley-laughing002: Naismith is better than in almost every single department apart from pace. If he could do *-all with the ball he wouldn't score in massive games against Chelsea (4 goals), Liverpool twice, Spain & Old Firm games when Rangers were still alive. He is so superior it's hardly up for debate.

One makes a valuable contribution to every club he plays for in a top league, the other is a very poor footballer in an average one. 12 Scotland caps in 5 years really says it all about Forrest. Seems to me you're just defending a poor Celtic player over an Ex-Deadco player out of spite, Dev.

Norwich paid £8.5m for Naismith, Forrest' average transfer fee for the rest of his career will likely be closer to £850,000, which seems about right for a player of his calibre.

I wouldn't have Naismith around any team that actually tries to play football mate, genuinely one of the most frustrating things I've ever watched in my life. Watching him trying to trap a ball and find a teammate with it is * infuriating. I'd rather have Derk Boerrigter on the treatment table, the guys * gash.

I still can't believe people are counting Chelsea as a hard game this season as well, were they not near bottom 3 in freefall when he scored a hat trick against them?

He works hard and he's good at finding space, regardless of the opposition. Just when he's in that space he can't do * all because he has zero footballing ability.

His movement is impressive and he's far better at one two's than Forrest, which he showed with that top finish against Liverpool a few weeks ago. I just can't see what Forrest would bring to the table over Naismith? 2 assists in over 30 appearances for a winger? That's just dreadful especially when you consider some of the teams we're playing against.

He scored against Chelsea this season, last season and in 13/14 mate. Actually 5 goals in total. If he had zero footballing ability he wouldn't be playing in the Premier League, never mind scoring goals against top opposition. He'll likely score a few more for Norwich before the season is out, while Forrest continues to be utter muck for us.

You'll be hard-pushed to find someone agreeing with you that 'Oor Jamesy' is better than Naismith, and there's a reason for that mate.

    Agree with this 100%

No argument in this for me, Naismiths twice the player and thats really saying something about Forrest. I just dont see James improving his game, Naismiths worked hard since he left the old club and does well for himself down there, while not being the most talented player.

I just wouldn't have Naismith in any team that's trying to actually play football mate, there's few things I hate more than watching him struggling to find a teammate with a ball.

This is mostly based on him for Scotland tbf but it does my * box in. Guy just lacks basic footballing skills.

When you're playing him in the hole or trying to get him on the wing to beat a man it makes me want to put my face through a wall.

As pish as Forrest is, he doesn't frustrate me anywhere near the amount Naismith does. They're both pish.

I think naismith is a cracking wee player, genuinely when ireland were playing scotland he was one player who i didnt want to see on the ball. To state that hes over rated i just cant fathom id have him in a heartbeat despite being an ex hun.

Despite the fact he's a Hun *, if we finally shell out £8m/£9m and it's for Steven * Naismith I'm committing hari kari.

Really? The biggest difference in the Ireland and Scotland games were Mulgrew and Maloney.

I know, nowhere near worth what they'd want, but I still like him as a player considering hes a dirty wee rat.

Seriously, there's not much more annoying sights in football than Naismith trying to control a pass and then dropping to the ground all dramatically like he'd just been shot.

    Guys a *.

James Forrest chucking his hands in the air the second any defender comes near him must be right up there.

The difference is that Naismith can be dangerous and score goals against good teams. For me, Forrest is the epitome of a footballer who lacks basic skills, not Naismith. He's not good at dribbling, he can't shoot/cross, his passing is lacklustre, he doesn't ultize his pace and his workrate is appalling - how many times have we seen him give up incredibly easily when a defender takes the ball off him, throwing his arms up the air claiming for a non-existant foul? It's became his trademark. That's why Naismith is comfortably the better player of the two. It can't be denied he's done well for himself down there.

If we had Naismith, I would expect him to score 10+ goals each season and get way more assists than Forrest. Not saying I actually ever want the guy :smiley-laughing002: I don't like him either but it's daft to say Forrest is the superior player when everything points to the contrary.

Neither of them are great footballers, but to be fair to Naismith, at least you get everything he has got when he plays. The same cannot be said for Forrest.

I'm not making an argument that Forrest is good mate. Just that Naismith is gash. I'd have almost anyone before him, unless you were just a hardworking team full of cluggers. Any team that wants to pass the ball about Naismith * it up almost everytime.

People seem to think because he pops up with a goal every now and again he's good. He's not. He * up almost everytime he gets the ball, never seen a player give away possesion so much. He's like a Landry N'Guemo just further up the pitch :56:

I'd rather pay Forrest his £5k for sitting on the bench than have Naismith on his £50k a week attempting to pass a ball.
