I don't think it is to be honest. Not that he's anything special, but we could have signed James McClean for £1.5 million. He's a better player and I'm sure he'd get a fair few goals here.

You're obsession with Common's is out of control he has been absolute pish this season, Brown hasn't been up to standards and neither has Bitton. Rogic is a hit and miss also. Forrest has done it on more occasions than all of them and is probably on par with turning up with Rogic.

    No he isn't.

Forrest was 'good' for the first month or so, since then he's been rotten. And a lot of the time he looks better than he is. He has games where he takes the * out of the full back up against him and you think 'this is the real Forrst'

But then at full time you realise that all he did was run past players. He didn't put a dangerous cross in and he had two shots that he dragged wide.

Whereas Rogic has scored half a dozen goals and had 3 or 4 outstanding matches.

I must see something else in him that other people don't, thats fair enough. I really can't fathom how that is though, I get the full disinterested thing but I feel that's only happened in two games this full season and its picked out a lot more than other players. The way he protected Tierney against Fernabache deserved so much credit but it seems everyone has forgotten about it. In Forrest we have a player with exceptional close control and the ability to go by a player like he's not even there, he is the only player in our squad with that sort of excitement, to say he cant get better is crazy considering this is his longest run injury free, he will be a star for us if we let him.

    @Boyd

Could we have signed McClean for that though, and if so, why didn't we?

Maybe wages were a stumbling block?

Like it or not, our players are going to have flaws.

Put the ball into who in the box? That monster Griffiths, he puts in great balls but no one capitalizes on them.

Griffiths has 22 goals this season and has had no bother putting them away with other players setting them up? It's not Griffiths fault that Forrest has struggled to get service to him on a consistent basis.

He's not had a serious injury in over a year now and still hasn't cemented himself in the team really.

According to wiki (I know), he has 1 goal and 1 assist from 15 games this season. Hardly proving his worth.

Aye the guy with 20 odd goals who scores plenty of headers you mean?

Forrest's crossing is hopeless. Half the time he can't even put it past the defender in front of him.

Come to think of it he did play well against Fenerbahce on the left but we haven't seen it enough this season, we have been going on about his potential for years, this was the season he was suppose to step up and he hasn't to be frank.

That's the fee he went to West Brom for. And let's be honest, McClean would sign for us in a heartbeat.

    Anyway that's just an example.

Our players will have flaws and that's fine but Forrest's many flaws actually prevent him from doing his main job 90% of the time.

Forrest puts in great balls, judging wingers on assists is a recipe for disaster, he is easily our most dangerous attacking player - just remind yourself of all the European games were he rinsed every single defender in front of him bar away in Ajax but he still played well in that game.

Our board wouldn't sign McClean, lets be honest here.

90% is a bit of an exaggeration. And how much do think McClean was on a WB, 40k maybe? Well out of our price range.

Tell you what, I'll start doing stats on Forrest's crosses and I'll get back to you in this thread.

You're an absolute fool. Who's our most dangerous attacking player then?

Aye maybe but his scoring record for an attacking player in Scotland is pretty woeful and his final ball in general is nowhere near good enough.

Perhaps, but as I say. I think McClean would sign for us in a second, even if that means taking a wage cut.

Then how come nobody is scoring from these great balls then? Fenerbache he done very well, he also set up a goal that game. Easily our most dangerous attacking player and you use Europe as an example of that? You do realise the man on the opposite wing, who you consistently slate, scored the most and set up the most goals for us in Europe this season? For the player you describe Forrest as, that's what you would expect.

He is good at beating players and has upped his workrate this season, his end product hasn't been up to his standards though. He's beating men but not finding teammates with the final pass or finding the net with the final shot.
