Would't say he was a consistent performer.

He really is. Apart from two times he got drafted in at the last minute due to injuries he has played well almost every match.

The other night against Hearts one of the times he got thrust in at the last second and had a stinker.

Don't think he was fully ready for that match, hence why he was on the bench before the injury to GMS.

Showed signs this season (finally) that he can consistently hold a place in the team and perform. Long way to go yet to reach the potential we thought he had as a kid, but took his goal well today. Hopefully this means GMS ups his game and we have 2 decent wingers on our hands.

Another natural winger should be a priority in January, for me.

Exactly what I mean about him being underratted technically all the donks don't have a clue. They ignore he has the best first touch in the entire squad and is our only outball in europe, his runs and positional awareness are exempilary to every other Squad member. Theres a reason why hes basically been Lennon and Deila's favourite player. If you cant see what he has your a muppet, simple as.

    Without a doubt. Two, even.

Especially the way we want to play, we probably need about * 4.

Then call me Kermit the *' frog because there is no chance Forrest is the most technically gifted we have and the best player in the squad.

JAMES Forrest has confirmed he has opened talks with Celtic about a new contract and revealed he is keen to pledge his long-term future to the Parkhead club.

Forrest’s current deal with the Scottish champions expires at the end of next year and his manager Ronny Deila is keen to tie him up on a new agreement before then.

The 24-year-old winger, whose career has been blighted by injuries, has rediscovered his best form in the 2015/16 campaign and forced his way back into the Scotland team.

He said: “We are talking. I want to stay at Celtic. Everything you do every day is enjoyable and I want to stay here. A lot of the boys feel the same because it’s such a big club.

“I think I have a year and two months left and I am pretty confident it can be sorted. As I say, it’s a big club and you don’t get much better than the European nights here.

Happy with that, I think he'll be a Celt for life.

The challenge for him now is to keep on scoring goals. He's a creative player who can improve and if he does, he'll be worth a lot of money. 30-60 minutes he's been outstanding in some of the games, but defensively, i think he needs to go out, run himself into the ground, help us get a lead and then you maybe put on someone else.

I hope we extend his current deal by 2 years as his ability is not in question but his fitness is.

    Is it?

He is going on 18 months injury free now (serious injury, not knocks).

Can he play 4 games in 9 days like we've just came through? There's still fitness questions.

I believe he hasn't proved anything yet although he has shown more promise of being injury free like lustig but they are both still picking up little injuries that keep them out for a few games and these knocks can crop up around big games then its detrimental to the team if this is still a constant problem.

That's not injuries though is it? That's just managing him sensibly for the time being.

For what it's worth I think he could manage that schedule now but why risk it?

He had a slight knock the other day too, he was on the bench for the diets game and only got put in after the pre match injury to GMS.

But he hasn't picked up little injuries for ages. The one he picked up before the Hearts game was the first knock he has had in I don't know how long.

To be honest, there is no point debating this because, like the mental "Izzy hasn't been the same since his injury", this will also follow Forrest around the rest of his career.

Just realised Von used the word "fitness" in his original post.

Aye he said fitness though, not injuries. We do need to manage him carefully, I don't think he'll ever be a player for 3 games a week, week in, week out.

Good enough to bump him when he scores, good enough to bump him when he hides like the coward he has shown too often in a Celtic jersey.

Absolutely disgraceful from him tonight. 45 mins and I can recall him touching the ball twice.

Disgraceful, cowardly performance tonight. Maybe he took the huff because he never started, but that tonight was inexcusable.
