    I had several ; Jinky , Pele , King Kenny and was told by my Dad that the player that I should emulate was West German midfielder Gunter Netzer . But the one that sticks in my mind was big George Connelly , a great pity he drifted away from the game the way he did .

    My boyhood hero was Brian McClair fantastic striker was gutted when he left for man utd .if he had stayed at celtic i think he would have been in top 3/4 all time scoring records for the club .

    Kenny Dalglish, his girlfriend (mrs now) stayed round the corner from me and used to walk up with him to get his bus home. Must have got his autograph every night until he took another route to the bus stop to avoid the strange looking wee * with the pen and bit of paper.
