I was talking obviously before his injury. Hes been on and off the team since he arrived from soton, he was a bit overweight and that didnt help

the guy had been our best playr this season so its going to be a huge loss

    * losing again.... can't be healthy getting so much ejoyment out of others disgrace but I truly love it. since we've become not as good Ive become quite small time with my celebrations, I guess now I know what it feels like to be a liverpool fan :bbpd:

Ings looks a far better player then Benteke but his price tag keeps him in the side

Very early days seen it too many times were players start off hot then fade away so won't be passing judgement yet

It was the price tag he came with that was the issue not his ability. The people that had seen him play for Monaco knew he was a very good player.

45 passes for the mata goal, if people can't see the diffrence between van gaal and moyes they need to have their sight check, it was a superb goal

granted the first 25 minutes we were steamrolled but consistency hasnt been one of the strongest points of this team. Still, we're second just a few points behind the invincible *, and those guys get very nervous when they see their big brother catching up to them

I'm sure a lot of the people who had their doubts about Martial have a very anglo-centric view of football. Anyone who watched him in Ligue 1 knows that he is a very, very special talent.

Just a wee stab here but maybe over 150 million worth of players might have been the difference.

For every Southampton result I am still expecting a good few Swanseas this season

the millions van gaal has been given has added mroe individual quality but the system itself has been the biggest improvement. with moyes we had a system anchored in very naive tactics that were alright 30 years ago. Van gaal has modernised our football which was in dire need of an update, even since fergie

now, not all things are perfect with van gaal, hes spent a ridiculous amont of money and we're still very light in several positions. The "philosophy" only seems to work sometimes, so yes, I also expect a lot mroe swanseas, but also a lot more southamptons and liverpools. Things Im almost sure, will get progressively better, because thats the van gaal cycle in every club hes been.

Then he'll leave, but hopefully Giggs will be up to the task. I'd be so proud to see giggsy doing well with our club, hes manchester united as far as Im concerned. Yes, I dont expect we'll ever be as dominant as we were with fergie, but who cares? I havent supported unitd for more than 30 years because of our titles.

Why does anyone that supports Man Utd always repeat the sentiments you expressed in your last sentence? Particularly when they have cockney or midlands accents I've noticed.

With regards to Van Gaal, Stoichkov recently labelling him the man who managed to destroy Barcelona was an interesting take on his management ability.

4th place is about as realistic a target for them this season as they can expect unless Chelsea in particular continue to stutter, the one thing I will guarantee however is they will finish higher than Liverpool and beating them the other week was no great noise

Don't know what odds I'd get but I'd wager that Newcastle and Sunderland are a good bet to get relegated based on what I've seen so far and Middlesboro will get promoted to run salt in their wounds.

Newcastle going down would be a terrific thing in my book, couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
