    He did, but even though that was only a few years ago it feels like things have changed.

    Scoring that many goals in the Championship now would increase a players value no end. It's like Virgil as well, I can't believe we signed a player that made the Eredivisie team of the season for so cheap.

    They seem like a one off. (two off I suppose..)

    Not strictly true, Hooper banged them in in the championship and we got him, albeit from a less well off club than Middlesbrough. And, would you honestly say if we wanted Daryl Murphy, then he would be out of our reach?

    I get your point though, there's probably more evidence of what you said being true recently.

    Judging strikers purely or mostly on their goal record seems sensible but its not a reliable statistic at all. From what I understand, he was deployed behind Bamford.

    Edit: Also, as has been pointed out, "proven" Championship strikers have been inflated in value in the last few years.

    Middlesbrough are a good side with good EPL history so if a player has done well down there then I would be interested in bringing the man up here to see what he can do.

    If he created 11 goals in about, what, 30 games was it? Then that's still alright in the Championship.

    Daryl Murphy did * up here but great down there so you never know, this guy could come to us and bang in 40 a season.
