I reckon Fallout 4 will win GOTY, I just can't see it not being incredible. And although I prefer this game, MGSV is probably more likely to be the runner up.

The ending I got was the same as your first play through. I read about the other two ending yesterday and the other one you got sounds really good as well. Glad I didn't get the 'bad' one, though.

Love games that have different ending or results based on choices made throughout the game. It's a very well thought out game.

ive held off on playing this for a while now as i wanted to wait for the hearts of stone expansion and play through more of the game with the new runewords ability.

plus, mgsv is keeping me busy at the moment too.

there are too many good games out now and coming out soon and so many of them are huge. mgsv, witcher 3, fallout 4, AC syndicate, SW battlefront, just cause 3

and hopefully theyll put no man's sky out on the xbone too.

This was a big dissapointment for me, cracking world, story looked amazing, gameplay with the fighting etc. was * shocking for me.

The way he character moves just feels so forced, big wide circles etc. wish it had the same sort of style as Shadow of Mordor. As it is I just can't get through it.

I love it the combat isn't too complex and you can have fun with it rather than just rattling off x and then y to block/ parry when it tells you to do so. Build up adrenaline points and lop heads off in a shot is quality.

Just downloading the new hearts of stone expansion right now, still not even half way through the main game either.

Thought I was the only one here who thought the actual gameplay and combat made it practically unplayable. :smiley-laughing002:

It honestly reminded me of a PS1 game in terms of character movement. The combat system feels years behind Shadow of Mordor imo.

Agreed, it's just not fluid at all. Trying to turn etc and you're walking in big circles, it just feels clunky to me. Shame because everything in it is very well done, I just can't sit through it though.

I thought Skyrim's fighting system was annoying, this feels far worse.

Think that's harsh. GTA and Red Dead are both the exact same, quite awkward at times.

I loved the combat in this game, it felt great.

Not played Red Dead but I think GTA is a but more flexible, bit easier with it being mostly ranged stuff as well rather than up close with swords and that.

Don't know if it's harsh or not but it's making me not play it.

Could be wrong but i thought i read that they released a patch that lets you change the player movement to feel abit more arcady or less sluggish.

I'm fully up to date? Is it an option you turn on?

    Best game ever.

Still enjoying this, * knows how long I have to go, just landed in Skellig, still doing loads of side quests, still loads to do for other lands too.

I've skipped Gwent, just don't like it or interested in it and I'm not bothering with the treasure hunts and stuff, might do the races, but not sure.

Loads of side quests and contracts.

Need to stop looking online to see outcomes of quests, I'm trying to be too goody two shoes and also not wanting to make a mistake when doing some missions, as sometimes I feel if I take up a mission and make a wrong choice I'm going to regret it and want to make sure I know how it kinda pans out.

Just finished the 'Hearts of Stone' expansion today, and it's honestly some of the highest quality DLC I've ever played. Here's my sort of mini-review

    Plot:

Whilst the overarching plot for the main quest isn't a new concept, it's very well done. I would honestly say that some of the quests in this, and the moments they bring about, are easily among the best in the entire game.

There's an overall creepy atmosphere that persists throughout most of the main quest and some of the side quests. It's never scary, but its similar to the stuff involving the Crones from the base game (which were my favourite parts). I really can't praise the general handling of tone & atmosphere enough. There's times where a scene is lighthearted one second and then disturbing/creepy the next, yet the shift never feels jarring.

The antagonist (although I suppose you could debate whether he is or not) is interesting and better than the one from the main game as far as I'm concerned. He's pretty much everything that was good about the Crones distilled into a single character (he even gets his own creepy little song like them). I'd recommend reading all the little books and notes you come across about him, it really adds to the character.

I wasn't completely happy with ending if I'm being honest but it was decent enough.

    Gameplay:

    • It's probably worth mentioning that the recommended level for the expansion is 30+ (although there's an option to be boosted to level 30 so you can play the content). This was marketed as the smaller of the two expanisons, so not much was added gameplay-wise outside the Runewright, some new armours & weapons, a few Gwent cards and the new areas for the map (Mostly to the north & east of Oxenfurt & Novigrad)

    • The Runewright is fairly useless at the moment. It costs 30,000 to unlock the highest tiered stuff, then another 2,000+ for each enchantment/rune/glyph thing. These new things take up all three rune slots on your item (swords & chestplate I think) but they aren't particularly good at the moment

    • They've really improved their boss fights as well. They use some fairly standard/well worn concepts but each fight felt fairly unique, which can't be said for the base game

    • The new armours & weapons are pretty decent, not much else to say. They added in a new set of Witcher gear (Viper School) which looks like the one on the game's cover & the one you start the game with

    • They added about nine-ish new Gwent cards. Each faction got a new leader card, the rest are all neutral unit cards

    • The new areas are decent, but it's mostly forests and villages. They're filled to brim with the usual treasure hunts, monster nests etc. There's some interesting little side stories that link some of the areas together which is nice. Also as an aside, when your exploring the new villages listen out for little kids signing a song.

    • All the enemies are high levelled in the new areas (34+) so you probably won't want to visit the new areas unless you're prepared

    • A couple of new creatures were added, they aren't spoiler related but I'll hide them in case anyone dosent want to know -
      Arachnomorphs (Giant Spiders) & Boars

    Concluding Ramble:

If you liked the main game, and were left wanting more, buy this. Even if you don't want to commit to the Season Pass, although based on this alone I'd recommend it, the £8 or whatever it is is completely worth it.

For what's being marketed as the smaller of the two expansions, I still got a good 15 or so hours out of this. Had this been a £15-20 it would still have been a good deal. If this is what they regarded as the less impressive of the two, I can't wait to see what the second expansion is like.

He gave you a moustache? Was it free if you read his post? :icon_mrgreen:

Might give this a go, does sound good. Game is fkn massive though so adding more hours might be overkill. :icon_mrgreen:

p.s. I read you're review, can I get a moustache too? Saves me growing one for Movember. Ta much.
