Right, need to know who thinks we'll win a European Trophy under Ronny!

My gut feeling tells me we'll never do it in my life time, although I really hope I'm wrong. Simply because I can't see us ever getting into the EPL, Scottish football will never improve enough to close the financial gap and Lawwall will always be a tight *

So no matter how good Deila is it'll need to be a miracle

Not as long as we're playing in Scotland. People call the board tight * but if we chase a European trophy with cash we can't afford them we'll end up like Sevco.

12 years ago we were in a European final, 7 years ago the huns were in one. It's perfectly possible for Celtic to win the Europa League one day with a bit of luck. The big one is extremely unlikely

Hopefully but I doubt it, teams like Atletico, Porto, Shakhtar, Zenit, Valencia, Sevilla are the ones who seem to win the Europa now and they are all far richer than us.

Were as the "Celtic class" teams seem to usually get beat in the final... Rangers, Braga, Sporting Lisbon, Fulham, Middlesborogh, Espanyol.

The last time a team comparible to us won it was probably Feyenoord in 2002. Since then its all teams who spend a lot of money on players. Even before Feyenoord the last lesser team to win it was probably Gothenburg when they beat Dundee Utd in 1987.

Only if we get backing from board will we ever win the CL and even then we would have to be extremely lucky.
With the Europa we would still need backing from the board but not as much.
We would have a better chance of winning the CL if we won the Europa the season before because we would be automatic entrants to group stages of CL and wouldn't have to go though the terrible qualification process that we have to do at the moment.

The EL isn't a ridiculous target. It's very possibles.

Look at teams in recent years Seville, Valencia, Shacktar, CSKA, Zenit..ect. These teams Celtic could beat on our day.

We could but the only thing is if we were to play 1 of them in a final we'd need to knock out 2/3 teams around that level before the final too.

So in the knockouts for example we may need to know out the likes of Basel, Ajax and Benfica just to get a crack at the likes of a Napoli in the final. Harder than it seems.

We could beat Barca 'on our day' but we're not going to win the champions league. Unless we have some serious investment we won't be winning a European trophy

Barca is 'on our day"' once every few years, it's different.

No.i doubt scottish football has the quality to compete at the top european level. Its sad but true. Id rather we focuse on domestic titles.

The whole Champions league and the euroleague as well ( to a smaller extend)are a circus anyway.

but to achieve what by focusing on domestic titles? we're already top of the pile, the idea of winning trebles every season doesn't excite me as much as big european games
