    Thought this might be an interesting thread. At your first Celtic game, who scored the first goal you saw, who against, and when? Do you remember much of it?

    Mine was Momo Sylla of all people (remember him?), he equalised against Livingston in February 2003. Sutton then went on to get a late winner.

    I don't remember much of the goal. The match report said it was the result of a Maloney free kick that hit the post, which I think I might remember...

    Seems so long ago!

    My first game was peter grants testimonal against Bayern Munich in 1997, was 11, Malky Mckay scored for us, we lost 2-1 though, dont remeber much. My first proper game was V liverpool in Uefa cup that same year, McNamara scored our first and we drew 2-2.

    Celtic vs Real Sociedad, European Cup 2nd Round, 1982...in the Jungle. First ever game, and my Dad and my Uncles took me.....Real scored first ( canny mind who scored it), but Murdo MacLeod scored a double to win the game 2-1 for us, but went out 3-2 on aggregate. Crazy atmosphere in the Jungle that night....not bad for a first timer.

    Olivier Tebily vs. Leeds United in a pre-season friendly in 1999. John Barnes' first match incharge. Tebily also scored an og.

    Leeds team had Radebe, Harte, Woodgate, Bowyer, Kewell, Hasselbaink, Hopkin, Alan Smith.

    Decent team that was.

    Went with my dad and sat in the Lisbon Lions stand.

    IIRC it was a 4-2 game versus Kilmarnock.

    Berkovic scored, was MoTM and got injured. Thought he was brilliant. :52:

    I probably been to games before then but that's the first I remember properly. First time I had realized Hampden and Celtic Park were different places too. :smiley-laughing002:

    John Hartson against Shelbourne in a friendly at Tolka Park in 2002. Have vague memories of being at it but don't remember the goals.

    First one I watched on TV and can remember clearly was Larsson's volley against the Huns in the 3-3 game that same year.
