Well, it was one of the most infuriating games I've been at. At half time, I would have snapped your hand off for a draw, just with the way the game was panning out, and in the end, I'm still not too displeased with a replay, although we should have won the game.

Having watched the highlights just to get a look at the incidents, I still don't think Van Dijk should have been sent off, and of course Paton shouldn't have, but even if he had got the right player, it would have been wrong to show him red anyway in my opinion. Neither of them did anything bad enough to warrant a red. How Brown escaped without at least a yellow for the initial tackle I'll never know, and Ciftci should face punishment for his reaction. The DU penalty is a dive, pure and simple, and Deila was spot on with his assessment, and right to point out that we are the only team to have been punished for a player diving. It will be interesting to see what is done about that. Our penalty is the right call, and the red card is also the right decision for me. It doesn't matter how close Dixon is, his arm is out, and he has stopped the ball hitting the back of the net, so it has to be a red.

The main thing is, we are still in the cup, the downside is, it's another game against Dundee Utd.

Reckon there will be three overturned red cards and two dished out.

No chance Dixon's red will be rescinded in my opinion, he has stopped a clear goal, and by the letter of the law, it is a red. Ciftci should be facing a fan. Paton's will obviously be overturned. Not sure about how Van Dijk & Butcher will be dealt with to be honest. I didn't think there was much in it, but I wouldn't be shocked if both received a ban.

The Dixon one is toughy I suppose. Raising his arm a wee bit could hinder an appeal.

Reckon Ciftci and Brown will be red carded and VVD and Paton will be rescinded.

I don't think Utd have a leg to stand on regarding Dixon. His arm is away from his body, and he has stopped a certain goal, it has to be a red.

I don't think Brown can have anything done, because the ref hasn't viewed it as a red for the foul, and he didn't kick out after. Ciftci could have retrospective action taken though I would imagine, as he has lashed out, and it has clearly gone unnoticed by the officials, Brown's tackle wasn't. I'm unsure how the Van Dijk situation will go.

Seen the full match highlights now... * me, the ref and his assistants had a howler!

The only possibility of a red during the first half stramash was Ciftci's kick out at Brooney. The rest was words-in-the-ear and maybe a couple of yellow cards (at worst!).

Our pen was a stonewaller, but it was never a red. The lad just threw himself at the ball.

TBH, I'm quite glad the game will go to a replay as that wasn't a proper contest.

Brown's tackle was a yellow at least in my opinion. The fact you have said our penalty is a stonewaller, automatically means that Dixon has to see red. It is a stonewaller, and he has stopped a certain goal, so he has to go. His arm is away from his body as well.

I actually can't beleieve anyone thinks Dixon shouldn't have been sent off. It's as clear a red as you'll see. He was unlucky, because he didn't intentionally stop it with his arm, but if you stop the ball on the line with your arm then you're getting sent off for it whether you mean it or not. I'd be amazed if they even bothered to appeal that one. Ciftci and that wee * who dived should be banned, I think butcher will get off with it, I don't think van dijk will get an appeal though. There's no way they'll ban all that utd players without chucking a celtic player in along with them.

This is why I have a bad feeling about Van Dijk's chances of getting his overturned, even though I don't think there was much in it at all between him and Butcher.

First half was shocking. Thought they adopted better to the 10v10 then us as we struggled to get the right supply to the box and came under pressure/defensive mistakes. Second half was almost the opposite. We good supply and no doubt if their keeper didnt have such a stormer we'll be in the semi's atm. The officials made almost every wrong decision. VVD and Butchers offensives werent red and the fact that Paton got send off was laughable. To be fair, i didnt notice the kick at bronnie in real time so hopefully something is done about that. The penalty was a clear dive but there was a defensive shambles before hand where that ball should have been drove into the stands by izzy.

Did anyone see Michael O'Neill on sky at half time?

Yeah, saw him before and after the game too, although to be fair I am pretty observant.

VVD and Butchers reds should be overturned. Dixons has to be upheld as he stopped the ball hitting the back of the net with his arm. Thompson and co were absolutely shocking yesterday. Blowing up for a foul after Izzy got round Ciftci and into their box summed him up. * refereeing the whole game.

Stokes and Forrest were awful. Henderson deserves a start ahead of both. We badly need another fast winger for when GMS is unavailable though. Hopefully Commons is back fit and we can play

    Brown Bitton
    Henderson Johanson Commons

Lacks a proper winger but I can't be arsed watching Forrest in one more game.

Pretty sure it is scheduled for the same night as CL games, and it wouldn't be allowed to be televised if so.

    Fair enough...

My understanding was that a handball had to be deemed deliberate to result in a pen AND a red, whereas an unintentional handball was just a pen. I suppose what you say makes sense when you apply the 'clear goalscoring opportunity' aspect to it.
