Denayer is better going forward than Ambrose and we didn't need to do much defending so think that's why.

 

Bitton at cb was majestic though and it allows the fresh legs of Henderson to come in.

He did ok but at times you could see he wasn't well drilled on certain defensive aspects. Played a their boy onside when they hit the post for example.

 

Good man , you noticed and commented on him playing the Dundee Utd player onside . If Ambrose had done that there would have been 1500 comments by now .

Comparing what a defender has done 100 times here to a guy thrown in at centre back as an emergency but is never a defender in a million years. Right o chief..

 

Just watched the highlights on sportscene, how the linesman seen the whole incident yet still advises the ref to send off the wrong player is beyond parody, and also Scott Brown is * solid.

 

Thought our service to Griffiths was shocking today. Rarely criticise the team to be honest but launching the ball in the air to a striker that size is poor.

Think our hand was forced a bit with the pitch though, which you can understand.

 

Would have took the result at half time but we should have won it in the second half with some great chances missed, Guidetti for example.

Some dire performances, Stokes in particular. Aboslutely stinking so he was, and Forrest, 1 or 2 glimpses of what he can do, totally pish for the rest of the match.

Although to give the players the benifit of the doubt, that pitch wouldn't be suitable for cows never mind a football match.

Wasn't really the best match but the officials were - once again - an absolute shambles. Paton sent off when he was nowhere near the incident with van Dijk & and that wee * Butcher; nothing done about McGowan's stamp on Stokes; Cifci kicks Broony in the face and * all is done; Thomson pulls back a clear advantage after Ciftci was fouling Izaguirre (seems that Thomson doesn't know what advantage means); absolute embarrassment of a dive by Connolly for United's penalty.

As for United's pitch....* me that was horrendous.

Weren't many standout players today apart from Bitton (especially considering he was playing out of position for 80 minutes as well) & Johansen. Thought Griffiths did pretty well considering he didn't get much service. Took his goal well too.

Hope we play better next week, though, so we can get our 1st trophy of the season.
