Banned from the stands, there's more than enough time and space for the majority of the reek to disperse before it hits the fans from there.

Forgive me, he obviously didn't see/hear the news and realise we have been fined for this before ... so yes he is a moronic wee * :50:

As for the rest of your post, when we get fined for having a trophy presentation using "pyro" then yes I will be annoyed.
We are getting fined for something that is avoidable and totally pointless.

Your last sentence, I have no idea what you mean ?

If we keep setting them off, will the fines escalate? And eventually lead to a ban.

If so what's the point we can generate atmosphere without them.

Yeah, you're just speculating there. We don't actually know anything about the knowledge or motivation of the person concerned. In fact we don't know anything about them at all.

My point is this: you are bringing money into the debate but that actually begs the question. You have no problem with your money being spent on pyrotechnic displays by the club (see the pictures above). So (unless I am wrong and you wrote to the board to complain about your money going towards the above displays posted by ILTC) your problem isn't in fact with your money going towards pyrotechnic displays; it is with your money being spent on displays that shouldn't happen. But don't you see that this begs the question, because that is exactly what is being debated in this thread? That is my point.

This is getting beyond a joke now in my opinion, these people are continually ruining the reputation of our support and causing the club to be fined by uefa and what makes it worse Is the fans that behave are going to be the ones punished as we are going to end up getting stadium bans if it continues. this sort of behaviour will also be the end of the GB as they will always be associated with these actions which is a shame as they do bring atmosphere to Celtic park.I feel that if these people are identified they should be made to pay the fines.

That'd be yet more taking the * out of fans though.

Canny drink, canny smoke, canny stand, canny sing offsensive songs, canny take offensive banners, canny wear offensive clothing, canny use flares, soon it'll be like some places in Europe where they take lighters off fans before entry.

Just want to herd * in and out like animals and empty their pockets. Football only exists because of fans, yet fans enjoyment of the football is being slowly, bit by bit being took away.

Ruining our reputation with whom, though?

With a corrupt and secretive organisation that has a history of extreme hypocrisy? With a mainstream media that constantly spreads lies about everything from world events to our own fans?

Do you care about our reputation with these people?

I can't help thinking that being able to express our history, identity and the political viewpoint on Ireland of a majority of our support is worth fighting for, though; the right to light a flare isn't.

Its mad tbh. This perception that our fans are angels are baffling.

Club's support is a product of its history and city. We live in one of the maddest cities in Europe, obviously that has an effect.

We have thrown bottles on the pitch, rioted with the police at Celtic Park, Hampden and Amsterdam last year. Fights with more clubs than I care to remember.

Need to stop pretending we are angels. Or that we ever where. We have been crass, offensive, aggressive amongst many things.

Rather have a support that everyone has their back, as oppose to the 'good little tims' you find online. Encouraging * tae grass, setting up fund me pages for huns. Just farcical.:smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

Speculate ? No, not when the club has already had to pay fine/s for this its the act of a moronic wee *.

A display organised by the club to celebrate a trophy presentation has ,as far as I'm aware, never resulted in a UEFA fine or has it ?
The first time it does, then I will want it stopped.

My problem is the club is getting fined for something that is avoidable. Its not really complicated, honestly.

Still, the fans want real football.

Football wouldnt exist if it wasnt for fans, thats why it is a business. What fans want should be what goes on but what fans want has been diluted away to heehaw.

The fans want to go to games, they want a swally, they want to stand, they want reasonably priced snacks, they want to get it up each other with songs, banners and whatever, some want to set of bangers and flares and thats really it - no harm would be done allowing it all. Currently you aren't allowed to do really any of that/it isnt available.

You already said that, so I'll repeat my reply that we actually do not know what the knowledge and motivation of this person was. Speculation.

The fact that someone has a different view from you (or me, because I don't think it's worth the fine either!) on this matter doesn't make them a moron.

So you agree with me, then? It's not your money going towards pyro displays per se that annoys you; it's your money going towards displays that you believe shouldn't happen.

Glad we sorted that out. Now we can get back to debating whether it should have happened or not.

Regardless if the flares are dangerous to even one person they shouldn't be used. If you need a bit coloured smoke to enjoy the football, are you really there to watch the football?

I must admit I tend to agree with this TBH.

No one is saying that pyro is needed to enjoy the football, though; they're saying they enhance the match experience for many people: just like singing, flags, huddles, etc do.

If a person continues to do something that is know to result in a fine , then to continue to do that is moronic :50:
If the person has an IQ in the top 1% of the population, it is still moronic/stupid/* behaviour.

I would not describe the other night as a "display" at all :smiley-laughing002:

You seem to have overlooked my question , has Celtic ever had a fine for the trophy day displays ?

Really unsure how to reply to this. Can only say I agree with most of it. However we are getting fined for the actions of a minority who seem to have decided that we need flares, or in the case of the other night, a flare.
Maybe it did inspire the players more , doubt it mind you. :icon_mrgreen:
