While I no its banned, I was at the game last night, and from the start to the end, they had a flare or smoke, and even bangers from the start to the end, but some how the story is we had one, it's a non issue anywere else in Europe but is used to tar celtic fans and we fall for
It and think it's wrong, were as
No one else cares and Uafa do * all to anyone else

Was there also mate and totally agree, they were letting them off all through the game on that middle tier up the other end, and do you know what no one cares, no one is bothered and it's a non issue just like it is at every other UEFA game they play, irrespective of my view whether flares are good or bad it does seem odd this whole situation is about single flares being let off at Celtic away games yet the authorities accept it on a mass scale from other clubs fans.

UEFA don't half act inconsistent on a whole host of things, look at last season when they shut down part of Bayern Munichs ground for a wee flag that had "Gay Gunners" written on it.

They make this up as they go along from what I can see.

I took a few but mostly just similar to the one I posted up minus the flare :smiley-laughing002:

For the record at the end all the home fans around me stood up and applauded the Celtic support, from the little Italian I do know they all seem astonished by the quality of our support and many spent most of the game watching our fans rather than the game :50:

Was a few Tims in my section and heaps under the away section as well.

Personally I only care about celtic and if celtic keep getting hit with fines then stop it. It's not making a statement by letting them off all its doing is getting celtic fined.
It might be unfair but the excuse of "everyone else does it" is just childish.
There are only so many fines that'll get dished out until its a worse punishment

From my point of view if the club are being fined for letting off flares, then it has to stop it. It is really that simple. Genuinely don't think that flares add anything significant in terms of atmosphere so why continue with it if it damaging the club's pockets and reputation?

It may be harsh but we all know that UEFA have fined us for it before and if an example is made out of 1 person it will stop it. Is it right that other clubs fans seem to get away with it, no of course its not but that's not a defence that has worked previously.

I was thinking about this the other night, if you watch the highlights of the Europa League and Champions League they are setting flares off all the time. Do there clubs just accept the fines and not mention it or are we being targeted?

The BBC report was laughable last night. The "Match Report" as in what happened on the park had a wee section with a picture of the flare in our end.

I doubt very much L'Equipe,Marca,Mundo Deportivo,Kicker,Gazzetta Dello Sport,Corriello Dello Sport and other like minded outlets would be so pernickety.

    Great response.

Yes as far as I am concerned flares don't add anything significant in terms of atmosphere. No idea why you are bringing flags and chants into this debate.

We do a * good job of creating an unrivaled atmosphere without the use of flares the vast majority of the time, there is no need for them.

I agree in principle but again I support the right to sing are songbook or have political messages both them are offences that lead to fines but I'd most definitely be supporting the fans there so I'd feel like a hypocrite saying ban people with flares ( even if I think they don't add anything) just rather they stop

How is it damaging The Club's reputation normal fans don't care one iota and the only people who would be writing about this negatively would just find someone else to say about us I don't understand why people care what the media think about us

Because last week we were not be allowed to bring flags inside your stadium. And I just don't get why.
You can do the bloodiest job you can, but without them, without flares, there will be always something missing. Maybe you think you have an urivaled atmosphere, but your wrong. Italy, Germany, France, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia. All of them has louder crowds than you.

I also don't think Uefa should ban them, because people go to stadium expecting them. But maybe Uefa don't want people in the stadiums, at least the "poorest" one. They only want theatres for rich people able to spend money in restaurants and stuff like that.

Damaging IMO because as soon as people read the headline "Celtic fined again by UEFA" that affects the clubs reputation. Majority of people wont then go on to read the actually story and see that we are not doing anything different from several other clubs.

I'm not a fan of flares, but how anyone , fan , media , reporter , can have a go at celtic for this and not any other team, is beyond me,

Welcome to the "* whipped minds" of the Football fans in this country my friend.

Don't let us drink at games, because we're all hooligans.

Don't let us stand at game, because apparently we can't be trusted.

The very people who are telling us we can't be trusted. Are the same people who in the latter point, are very much culpable for the events they continue to highlight.

In a supposed "forward thinking"country, we have so many backwards thinking authorities and individuals.
