I don't really think Flares look that good and can understand that there a bit dangerous ( just do it in a controlled way or something ) but we get fined over are songbook or having flags and that's something I'll never condemn the fan's for so I'd feel like a little bit of a hypocrite talking about the flares ( although to completely separate issues) Ahh * it I never sit on the fence I'm doing it for once :56:

I like them. I think when they're set off before the game, they look amazing and I know there has been a bit of a laugh in the 'sonic attacks' thread but the away support can be pretty intimidating when they properly show up to the home team.

I just don't see the issue in supporting these things safely instead of trying to make everything illegal all the time. If people are setting off flares, let them declare it, then we can get a sand bin nearby for when it's done and anyone who thinks they might suffer from the smoke can sit a couple of rows down and don't allow them during the game where there's a genuine issue (not being able to see the game).

Everyone knows whats going on, including the police and there should be no issue.

It's not like this happens everywhere, it's really just in the main section of our away support or would be in the GB section in out home games. If it was arranged and organised it could be worked around but it seems like the powers that be are more interested in arresting and banning people who really love following their team.

Always been a favourite of mine despite not being the most technically gifted. Thanks to being a relation of Phil O'Donnellrooki. I was given the opportunity to meet the first team as a young lad and he was a true gent. Made arrangements to take a couple of training sessions at the boy's club I played for.

You continue going off-topic though, what's the next target for the scattergun?

The flares need to be knocked on the head. We can generate the best atmosphere in the world when we want to, without the use of flares.

Just give it a * rest, it's a fight not even worth fighting. It's not even worth bothering about never mind fighting.

Yet, you haven't actually replied to any posts addressing the use of flares.
If we could get the some kind of measure on what you think of flares there might actually be an actual discussion instead of you saying 'we're getting fined, stop it' and us saying 'naw'.

If you're only reason for being against flares is that we're getting fined then that's a pretty poor reason. Tell us why it's a good rule and you might have a discussion on your hands.

As previously stated in the thread by others, I believe we can generate a good atmosphere without them and don't believe they add anything in terms of atmosphere.

The fact their continued use is financially penalising the club makes it all the more difficult for me to comprehend why anyone who purports to 'support' the club would use.

Typical media reporting on the flares rather than the performance. The fact that teams get fined for the use of flares is pish.

That said though, I wish the fans would just chuck it. Pointless constantly doing it if the club is going to get fined.
