Near enough the same shape. I would drop Johanson into the DMF role rather than the AMF role. The reason is that if we concede in the first half we are done for. I think that his buzzing about in there could be useful to help make us more solid and he may be able to influence the game from deep by feeding our wide men or Leigh directly, with long quick breaks.

This more conservative shape is asking a lot from the wide men. Stu on the left no contest. The right hand side is trickier. GMS gave them all sorts of problems and his pace and trickery could be an asset again but i have went for Commons as i believe that feeding Griffiths on the break is what we should be looking at. Kris has the guile to do this. His long range shooting is also a major factor.

Thumb for Gudetti. Speed is the name of the game for our CF in this game. Power of the bench later on if we need it.

Agreed. He has been * awful in the Europa League this season. We've just seen our best attacking display in Europe for * knows how long, the last thing I want to do is dismantle the team to shoehorn a guy who completely slows everything down and who's touch is embarrassing at that level.

We all know we are capable of doing it now. And even if we don't, we can all hold our heads high for doing so well thus far. But seeing as we are still in the competition, we might as well hold the belief that we are genuinely and realistically capable of putting Inter Milan out of Europe over two legs.

When have we ever been able to say that with such conviction? (Lisbon Lion era excluded :56:)

Even with Commons coming back from injury, I wouldn't play him from the start. WHy change a system that already works? Our goals came from uncharacteristic, individual errors.

Keep the front 3 attacking midfielders as last time. As for Griffiths, I'm not too sure. Guidetti from the start just seems like he could provide more for us. Griffiths deserves his spot though.

Don't think we could play a completely different formation such as a 5-4-1

    ..............................Gordon.............................

    Matthews....Lustig....Denayer.....Virgil....Izzaguirre

    ..............Brown........Bitton.........Armstrong........

    .............................Johansen.............................

    ..............................Griffiths..............................

Subs to come on: Guidetti, Commons, McKay Steven

Wonder how Inter will play. We had a lot of the ball but they did sit back when they went ahead.

Think this game will suit us if Inter dominate the ball, their defender don't look to sure-footed.

Aye around that. The Inter support are very inpatient and will get on the backs of the team quite quickly. So no conceding early goals please for * sake Celtic.

Same team that played them on Thursday. Take the same approach as well.

Guidetti in for Griffiths, keep the rest the same as Thursday if possible.

Can see a few goals being scored here, but I'll take 1-2 to the men in Hoops :50:

I think we should play the exact same as the first leg but with Guidetti in for Griffiths... on any other day I actually think we would have beat Inter as the 2nd and 3rd Goals were mistakes on our part! Lets just have a right good go at them we have nothing to fear. It would be brilliant to see Steve Mcmanaman's reaction if we did go over and horse them 3-0 ... we should be doing that all the time eh?

Thinking it could finish 2-2, but hopeful we can progress. No fear, just go out there and give it our all and don't gift them any soft goals and I'll be happy whatever the outcome.

Shocked at people leaving out GMS. Who is going to run at their defenders in that Commons/Johansen/Armstrong trio ?

I hope cagliari are bunch of dirty * that don't like people wearing the number 91 shirt or tiny rat tails and the name Mauro.

Were you saying that when he scored the only goal against zagreb at CP to give us a vital 3 points in the group stages ? he also found the net away in zagreb and has scored alot of important goals for us in Europe over the past few seasons .

I actually found him a very impressive player for us in the last 16 year - when we were under pressure and struggling to retain possession he was often the one with the bravery and composure to put his foot on the ball and keep it , i can remember him winning countless free kicks with good touches and peices of skill , which came at a time when we were under the cosh majorly and alot of his team mates were panicking on the ball and giving it away. Amazingly under rated in Europe .

Don't know what to expect. I always think games with early goals are hard to extrapolate much from.

Their defense is there for the taking though.

I'd more of less go for the same team as thursday.

I think the three goals we conceded were silly mistake's which i dont think would happen again.

I believe that guidetti has the bite back between his teeth and imo he has to start. Griffiths has been a revelation but for him to come on in the second half, especially with his pace could be a game changer.

    Gordon

    Matthews Denayer Van Dijk Izzy

    Brown Bitton

    GMS Johanson Armstrong

    Guidetti

I'd go with this team. Agree that Griffiths pace may be more useful coming off the bench and running at tired cramping Inter defenders. Only other change is I think Commons should start, but dont know who'd make way for him...Armstrong or GMS. Armstrong had a good game in the first leg, probably just slightly better than GMS who gave away too many silly free kicks.
