But he's just a 'wee ned' so his goals don't count.

Guidetti is far too slow to be played on the wing.

And Guidetti's don't because they aren't from open play.

That's actually a genuine reason, though (although absolutely no one, excluding the Guidetti lovers, have said that).

He's a striker. He needs to be scoring from open play.

There's no guarantee we'll get a free kick near the box, or a penalty, there's also no guarantee he'll score them - plus, even counting his goals from penalties/free kicks the time since he last scored is horrendous.

People either rubbish Griffiths by claiming he's a ned, or that he's on a 'good run' - yet last season he scored consistently when given a run of games.

I don't even think Griffiths is on form; he just scores goals when given the chance.

Celtic Striker Guidetti Open To Serie A Move
Join the Forza Italian Football writing team in 2015. Think you know Calcio? APPLY NOW!!!
John GuidettiOn-loan Celtic striker John Guidetti has dropped a hint that he may be plying his trade in the Serie A next season.

The 22-year-old Swedish international is currently on loan at the Scottish champions from Manchester City, and has enjoyed a solid campaign, scoring 11 times in all competitions so far this season.

The striker has a contract that expires in the summer however, and Guidetti admits that two particular Italian teams are attractive options for him.

“At the end of the season I’ll be free, without a contract. But for now, I’m a Celtic player,” Guidetti said.

“Lazio? I have never got an offer from them, but my family would be happy. Some are still living in Italy, and go to the games.

“The team I have been closer to however, is Sampdoria. At 15, I trained with them, first with the Primavera and then one time with the senior squad.

“I loved everything there, but then [Sven-Goran] Eriksson brought me to Manchester City.”

    Guidetti: ‘I supported Inter’
    By Football Italia staff

Celtic striker John Guidetti reveals he supported Inter as a child - but says Celtic Park can inspire his side to a win on Thursday.

Inter will take on the Hoops in Glasgow tomorrow, seeking to take a step toward the Europa League Last 16.

Guidetti’s 11 goals in 22 games have helped Ronny Deila’s side to the top of the Scottish Premiership, and the Swedish striker reveals he supported Inter as a child.

“They’re one of my favourite teams,” Guidetti told Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the match.

“When I was little I supported Inter, I had the shirt too. I’m Swedish, and Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] was in Milan, I was at San Siro for him.

“Once I nearly even joined Inter, I was about 13, I was taken to Milan and trained there. I also played a bounce game against a former club legend, Beppe Baresi I think.”

The on-loan Manchester City striker also has high praise for the current Inter team, but believes the Celtic fans can help his side overcome the Nerazzurri.

“They’re a very strong team. [Xherdan] Shaqiri is great, I played against him in the Feyenoord-Basel match. Hernanes has great technique, and I know the same is true of [Gary] Medel.

“They fight from start to finish, but to come to us and win is not easy.

“Celtic Park will be sold out, 60,000 people. For me, if you take the fans away from football, there’s nothing left.

“Players come and go, but they spend their money to follow the team year after year, and demand only one thing: passion.”

Guidetti’s Manchester City contract expires at the end of the season, but the 22-year-old isn’t sure if he’ll remain at Celtic, revealing Inter aren’t the only side who’ve tried to bring him to Italy in his career.

“At the end of the season I’ll be a free agent, with no contract,” Guidetti explained.

“I’m a Celtic player now, it’s impossible to say where I’ll end up.

“Italy? I was close to Samp[doria], I trained with them at 15, in the Primavera once and in the first team once.

“It was the team with Montella and Cassano, I liked everything, then [Sven-Goran] Eriksson brought me to City.

“I have a lot to thank [Inter Coach Roberto] Mancini for, he gave me my debut in the first team, and advised me to go to Feyenoord.

“He was right, I had my best season in the Netherlands.

“I see that he’s spoken about me recently. He’s different class, just like he was as a player.”

That's it John, keep talking about all the big teams you almost joined as a youngster.

The way you're going, that's all you'll have to talk about regarding your football career.

He has mentioned before that he would like to play for Lazio and in Italy, remember reading his family have an apartment in Rome and he said something like so id already have a house there.

Agree though, he should stick to playing and training and stop dreaming of playing for good teams in top Leagues, so far he's only kicked a ball and not even done that great in the Scottish and Dutch Leagues, probably not even kicked a ball against a decent defender in his career.

Griffiths for me. He is not great, but I can see him being a bit of a pain in the *. He will come back to midfield and make runs from there. I think Guidetti may sit up top and wait for the ball which would suit the Inter defence. Anyway proof will be in the pudding!

    It's no..

I'm probably what you class as a fan boy, yet have gave my scathing opinion on him over that article..

Griffiths should start, not the guy selling his * to our opponents before a massive game..
