Firstly, i'm not usually one for gloating....but * it! I'm delighted I put my faith in Ronny/Collins and Kennedy this season, have backed them to the hilt and it's paying dividends :bbpd:

We're fast seeing what he wanted to impliment into HIS Celtic side and he's doing it (albeit he's had to mould his team already with largely players already at the club), but I for one am waking up this morning with a sense of excitement after we secured two of Scottish football's most sought-after signings (Armstrong/Mackay-Steven) as well as maintaining (so far) the services of van Dijk and Commons - i can smell a new contract being signed by Kris in the coming days......

I like the way the team is shaping up now, and I think the addition of these two wonderful players will do Deila's favoured 4-2-3-1 formation the world of good. I think it's also important that we are a team now that is blessed with a good nucleus of British/Irish players that know what the club is about and are naturalised for the Scottish game, and will give a more solid grounding to the team, rather than guys like Tonev, Wakaso etc, and also a few Scandinavian lads - who are almost like homegrown players themselves in the way they adapt to the British game without much adjustment.

Without adding in players like Mulgrew and Forrest - either injured or still searching for full fitness, the potential first team 11 looks pretty vibrant and full of quality:

    Gordon

    Lustig Denayer van Dijk Izaguirre

    Brown Johansen

    Mackay-Steven Commons Armstrong

    Griffiths

Obviously you have the difficulty that Commons technically is only contracted to the end of the season (but like I say, I imagine he will be tied down within the next coupla weeks), and that backline could potentially require a change with at least Denayer guaranteed to not be here next season causing slight headaches, but I fully trust our management team have the ability to overcome these problems.

Totally agree with you (don't agree with that 11 though :icon_mrgreen:)

I've backed Ronny to the hilt so far and I'm delighted to see he's going very much in the right direction :50:

The 11 I put up there is just based on current form (don't think Griffiths is ever good enough to be main striker for years to come, but * it the wee man is giving his all the now :50:), and also I believe Armstrong could finally be the long term replacement we've lacked since Stan Petrov, and Mackay-Steven has the: skill of McGeady, the speed of Forrest and the vision of Commons.

I agree, been backing him as well since day one. I love the fact he's different (not just a ex player who is "celtic minded") and is also foreign with different ideas/tactics. Also, winning the league with Stromsgodset is a massive reason in its own to give him time and trust him.

For the record, my starting 11 would be:

    Gordon

    Lustig Denayer van Dijk Izaguirre

    Brown Armstrong

    Commons Johansen GMS

    Griffiths

Totally agree. It took a while but have that same feeling we're turning that corner and remaining more consistent.

With the new signings on board and a fit squad it can only get better.

    Long may it continue.

I hate to be negative here but I just think we shouldn't be getting too carried away after Sunday as the other mob were shockingly shockingly bad, they're just a complete * shambles although it was great to see. I know it was a very bad pitch and we were very comfortable but I still have my doubts about Delia and his tactics. There has been an improvement in the league though although we should be beating teams comfortably anyway with our resources, what I am happy about are the signings of GMS and Armstrong and this new policy of looking at the best young scottish talent rather than abroad, we've lost out on too many over the last few years and that should be our priority. As for how far we have really come or if there has been any real improvement I'll wait until after the Inter game to really make my mind up.

I get what you're saying but judging the team and Deila based on the Inter games isn't really fair either is it? On paper, they are a far better team than us and are expected to progress relatively comfortably.

Yeah I now what you mean and I'm not expecting us to beat them or anything It will just be interesting to see how we acquit ourselves against quality opposition, I find it hard to read anything whatsoever into that game on Sunday my local Sunday league team would give them a game.

Seriously ditching Bitton? Ronny won't drop him and shouldn't anyway, means he's now able to roatate the front 4 knowing there will always quality he can rely on. Also have the possibilty of having GMS and Forrest on either wing probably for away Inter game, lots of counter attacking pace and quality which is needed in Europe.

He has the potential of having a very strong squad.

Sign Guidetti and Ciftci, offload Ambrose,, Forrest, Boeriggter and the rest of the deadwood and ill be a very happy man.

    Gordon

    Lustig Denayer Van Dijk Izaguirre

    GMS Brown Armstrong Johansen

    Ciftci Guidetti

    Zaluska

    Fisher O'Connell ????? Matthews

    Commons bitton Henderson Stokes

    Griffiths Scepovic

2 strong sides that. Very strong squad... I know i've just thrown Ciftci in there :smiley-laughing002: but I'd really like us to sign him in the summer, and Guidetti has proven he's good enough. Whether we sign him or not I don't know, but i'd like to see him and Ciftci at Celtic next season.

So we shouldn't judge Deila against teams domestically, because we have more resources, but he should be judged based on how do against Inter, a team with far more resources than us
