It may have been mentioned but I wouldn't mind playing Armstrong through the middle next week. I think Stefan has been poor every game so far this season, friendlies included. Granted he has a couple of goals and assists but I think that's covered some really lacklustre performances.

    This place.

Johansen hasn't been great but "get him to *"....come on pal. Those were the kind of comments on here this time last year when he was struggling.

And that is why I think we should sign Scott Allan, he offers something different. Armstrong and Johansen have both been subdued so far this year, and shouldn't be walking straight into the team. They need to get the finger out.

We have played 3 competitive games! Hardly time for alarm bells to be ringing.

Not saying that. This is a very crucial stage of the season for us, ergo Champions League Qualifiers, and if Johansen and Armstrong can't lift their games for that, they need a boot up the *.

Armstrong and Johansen are far far better players than Scott Allan by some distance.

A good season in the Scottish Championship and some folk are going on about Allan like he's Iniesta

Scott Allan is absolutely no where near good enough for Celtic.

If Armstrong and Johansen are really as good as you say they are, then why did they not provide any good service to Ciftci ? Ciftci had to keep dropping deep to look for the ball because Armstrong and Johansen were invisible tonight.

Have you actually seen Scott Allan play ? He is a cracking player. This tussle with Sevco for Allan could turn out to be a rerun of the tussle for Scott Brown years ago.

You are. You said both players have been subdued so far this season. It's not as if we are a few month into the season though are we. We are 3 competitive games in. Scott Allan wouldn't be in ahead of either in my opinion, that's for sure. Too many people getting carried away by a player who had a good season in the second tier of Scottish football, and has set his sights on staying at that level this season as well.

But Johansen and Armstrong have both been subdued so far this year, that is a fact, dozen't matter if its three or thirteen games into the season, we can't afford to miss out again on the Champions League for the second year in a row, it would have implications for the club and the support. Here is my penny's worth, the balance of the midfield is out at the moment IMO, I would drop both Armstrong and Johansen, and bring in Stokes and Commons.

    My *.

Tonight certainly wasn't Armstrong's best night, nor Johansen. But both players have clearly showed both domestically and at times in European competition over a longer period of time they are better players than Scott Allan, who yes, I have seen play. And both have done it at a higher level than Allan as well.

As for comparisons with Brown, we signed Brown from a a Hibs team who were qualifying for Europe and winning the league cup. He was their clearly their best player and one of the best young players in Scotland at the time.
Allan is playing for a Hibs team who are currently in the Scottish Championship and just received a spanking from a team who finished below them last season.

And your solution to that is to sign Scott Allan? That's what you have said. Scott Allan would be lucky to make our bench when everyone is fit in my opinion. Armstrong isn't a left winger, neither is Scott Allan though, and we should still be looking to bring a winger in I feel, because Forrest is a waste of a jersey as well. Johansen was our best player last seasons when moved into the role he is playing now, and looking to replace him after 3 competitive games this season is silly talk I feel. We would be a poorer team with Johansen out the starting X1. I wouldn't be against seeing Commons starting the next leg over Armstrong though, as I feel he can offer a lot in these games, but he isn't the answer for later in the competition either.

Some *. I've been supporting Celtic longer than you have probably have had hot dinners.

I stand by what I have said. If we sign Scott Allan, Johansen and Armstrong may find themselves surplus to requirements in the future, if they don't start getting the finger out. Remember I said if.

Completely agree with all of this . Armstrong and Johansen can not play in the same team . Both have the same deficiencies that frustrate the * out of me . Scott Allan could easily be the best scottish player in the SPl in 2 or 3 years time , whether it s with us or not - couldn't have been more impressed with him every time i watched Hibs last season .
