1 up in a cup final and the game was won. Shows how much you know about football. Need i remind you about a certain dark day at Fir Park around 10 year ago. 1 goal is never enough. Forrest put us out of sight give him the credit he deserves. Missing the penalty tisssssss that carrot, you're some craic

So Ronny rates Stokes over Griffiths & Guidetti as a striker and thinks Johansen should play as a holding midfielder instead of Bitton?

1 goal up and a man up completely controlling the game. Utd were never going to win.

You need two players for every position. I'm very content going forward with Forrest and GMS battling it out for the RM slot.

Yeah they did well but still have it all to prove at the top level.

    In a cup final wow.

Yes, I agree with that but you can't argue McManus, Caldwell & Naylor weren't decent players at their best?

McManus was club captain and Caldwell won POTY & WPOTY in 2008. Naylor was a very capable left back.

Paul Telfer I agree wasn't up to much.

    What are you talking about?

Forrest scored against a dead and buried 10 man Dundee Utd when we were already winning. * nice one Jamesy, well in.

    :smiley-laughing002: Really?

I think you need to revisit the word "support".

Actually criticising a player for scoring because of extenuating circumstances.

That's a whole new level of negativity pal.

Im not criticising Forrest for scoring. I'm just emphasising the fact that it didn't really matter.

The fact that you dont know that being just 1 up in a cup final is not enough shows how biased you really are. It pains you to admit that his contribution was significant in one of our biggest games so far this season. If either of them Utd boys had the same game touch for touch as Forrest they would be getting rightfully prasied. Do your own thinking and stop looking for a reason to slate a player because you dislike him for some reason

I would love Forrest to succeed here but I can't help feeling that with his injuries he will never improve on what he is now as a player

He is on his longest run of being injury free than he has been in years. By the start of the CL qualifiers it will be 10 months injury free. That's when I believe we will see the absolute best of him.

Like I said though, one more setback and it could be all over for him. 6 months injury free, this is his time to kick on.

Going by some of the comments on here we dont deserve to have him succeed here. People wont be happy until he is chased out the door. I have seen him and McClean in the flesh many times and Forrest is 3 times the player of McClean, and McClean has done it in the EPL and looks a comfortable championship player. If he leaves us he will go on to be an EPL player easily and people will be crying about how we let him go, bla bla bla. It is fashionable now to hate him as it was with thumb at one stage. Judge the man for what he does on the pitch and nothing else

Look I can't be arsed continuing to debate how significant a goal was that our wee Jamesy once scored, but heres some facts.

We have played 51 games this season.

According to the man himself in the post match interview last night, he said 'I've been fine since November'. So he has been available for selection. He has featured in 20 of those games and not all of them were starts. In fact probably the majority of them weren't.

That shows how much Ronny rates him.

He is not an EPL player in a million years.

To stay on topic, Armstrong is the better player.
