Scored the same amount of European goals in 2 minutes as Stokes has in 4 years...

Izzy has to take that into consideration as well though. I know he's an attacking full back but he takes the * at times, Needs to remember that he's a defender first and foremost.

2nd wasn't his, it was an OG, he missed the ball and Campagnaro stuck it in.

I think he was tonight, didn't see him hit the touchline once. The problem was when he had players running down the wing and through the gap between him and Van Dijk. He was gambling and picking to cover the man inside, that's where Armstrong needs to come into play.

You can forgive Armstrong of that just now though. I'm sure Ronny will be working on it.

Outstanding tonight. His tracking back was great, remember we were caught out at the back at 3-2 down and they had us on the counter and he came across and tackled Palacio I think, looked like he got a bit of a kick in the process.

I'd still give it as his goal.

Doesn't look out of place at all. Few wee things that tell you he's not fully gelled yet but that's entirely understandable.

For someone I wasn't that excited about joining us, I * am now.

Had my doubts about him but I thought he was well worth the risk for £1.75m.

Wow. He was immense in that first half. Delighted to see how buzzin he was in his interview after the game too.. That's the first time he's shown some real emotion since he got here which was great to see. He is goin to be a fantastic player for us :50:

Incredible how both of the the new guys have come from Dundee United to playing in Europe against Inter, virtually over night, and already making us a better team.

It is proof that we can build a great team from a base of domestic talent.

    No need for exotic names!

I think that'll be the way we are forced to go anyways.

Probably. But judging by today, it might not be much of a disadvantage.

If we had started a more active domestic policy last year, we might even have had Ryan Gauld in our team. And others.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of domestic players bought versus international: price paid, amount of games played, selling price, and ultimately: how many Euros profit/loss per game played. (not the best variable, perhaps..)

The ultimate player is of course:

    1. low price.
    2. low salary.
    3. plays many games.
    4. sell for a good price.

So we could make an equation...but never mind.

My bet is that most domestic players will be far more profitable than most international players. With some notable exceptions like Wanyama, etc. And those few notable exceptions might just make international players worthwhile because of the enormous prices paid.

Just speculation of course, but what are football forums for....

Last night reminded me of Barry robsons European debut at parkhead and hopefully his celtic career will be just as good as his.
