They brought 4-5 players in and 2 of then are immidiant improvements. So I am not fussed about them.

No, Dundee united have proven to have one of the best conveyor belts of talent coming through in this country. They are taking in (in Scottish terms) great money and investing it in youth and still bringing in talent (6 new signings this window)..

They are as sound as they've ever been so fair play to them for that..

Think of the team they could have had though...

    Cierzniak
    McGowan Dillon Fojut Robertson
    Paton Armstrong
    Russell Gauld M-Steven
    Ciftci

Sevco would struggle to get a good a team as that for years.

I don't feel bad for United. We're in the same position.

United are a superbly run club, which is how they managed to develop such good players in the first place. They'll reinvest (and already have begun to) and bounce back like they always do. That's how they operate.

... and then we will take those new players that they bring through three or four years down the line, for peanuts :smiley-laughing002:

ON a totally different level though, to be fair. At least we get the chance to win things with ours. :smiley-laughing002:

I agree with your logic but I think it only really applies to 1 of the 4. When they sold Gauld and Robertson it was essential to create financial stability. That has now given them a platform to build a team with no pressure to sell, and even re-invest.

In the case of GMS, he was leaving anyway. So they are only losing out on about 4 months worth.

Armstrong is the only 1 I feel guilty about, as it doesn't seem like any other decent teams were going to swoop in and take him. But saying that, they did get around £2m for him. That's money in the bank that will go towards making their squad stronger.

So, yes, we have weakened them. But possibly only temporarily.

Jesus over a day without a post in here!!

Seen he went on a follow spree on twitter and one I noticed was Amido Balde:56: clicked on his twitter coz I don't follow him and he said to SA looking forward to seeing you at Celtic. Big Amido planning on being back at Celtic? Thought he would go tbh.

I couldnt give a flying * . Dundee United are never going to compete for titles with us . If you want competition , wait for the huns to find their feet again because that is the only chance of competition we have in scottish football .

    Nope.

I care about Celtic just as you say and Celtic only. We now have 2 players who will improve us domestically and Robertson and Gauld have gone on to improve their careers massively.

It's good for the national side as well and I like to see that, even though I'm not overly arsed about international fitba. Gauld is already looking like Sporting's main man.
