If it wasn't for Celtic and the points we picked up. Scotland as a country would literally be ranked along side the likes of Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Estonia etc.

The system is sadly flawed for a club like us, simply impossible for us to progress if we are the only club doing anything in Europe.

If we only had 1 European spot in our league it'd be a godsend but that won't ever happen either, because as it is we have 4 spots and they average out of the points by how many teams entered Europe.

So if we got 20 points as a nation over the season, which we could ourselves alone, it gets divided by 4 due to having that many clubs in Europe. Meaning we'll never accumulate enough points to move up as a nation.

The draw has been very kind to us, our two potential opponents are even weaker than Stjarnan

The system is there to make sure only the biggest teams make it to the last 8 or last 4.
Rich yet again tilting the scales in favour of the richest clubs.

    * knows.

There's no way Stjarnan are better than Qarabag. All you have to do is look at their results in Europe last season to know they are half decent.

    Just last season:

    Stjarnan 0-3 Inter
    Inter 6-0 Stjarnan

    Qarabag 0-0 Inter
    Inter 2-0 Qarabag

How can you conclude that Qarabag are worse than Stjarnan?

    Other results last season included

    Qarabag 2-1 Salzburg
    Salzburg 2-0 Qarabag

    Qarabag 0-0 Twente
    Twente 1-1 Qarabag

    Qarabag 0-0 Saint Etienne
    Saint Etienne 1-1 Qarabag

    Dnipro 0-1 Qarabag
    Qarabag 1-2 Dnipro

I thik we can conclude that they're a hard side to beat. I'd much rather face Rudar.

    FK Qarabag 2014/15:

Narrowly beat by Salzburg in 3rd round of CL qualifying, winning 2-1 at home then losing 0-2 in Salzburg.

Dropped down into a Europa League play off, meeting FC Twente. Got through on away goals, 0-0 at home then 1-1 in the Netherlands.

Europa League group stage containing Saint-Étienne, Internazionale and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

Getting 6 points finishing in 3rd, conceding just 5 goals.

Drew home and away to Saint-Étienne, drew at home to Internazionale and the most impressive result, beating Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Europa League finalists, in Ukraine.

    No mugs indeed.

Nice area round about, 'scenic' :smiley-laughing002:

Looks like the stadiums you see during the Toulon tournament in France.

National team contributes 20% each season. We don't take a huge hit, but it means our country is continually low ranked.

I'm almost certain national team performance has absolutely nothing to do with club coefficients. Happy to be corrected though.

Probably one of the least well researched posts in TC history

Even thinking about it, Wales at the minute are doing great, all of a sudden TNS or Bala Town aren't going to gain loads of points off that in the coefficients :smiley-laughing002:.

It's based on your previous 5 years in UEFA club competitions. Then, your associations performance is based around an average taking into account all of your associate teams who participate in UEFA competitions.

I worded that awfully. Our country coefficient contributes 20%!
